Anomalous spin precession systematic effects in the search for a muon EDM using the frozen-spin technique / Cavoto, G. (INFN, Rome) ; Chakraborty, R. (PSI, Villigen) ; Doinaki, A. (PSI, Villigen) ; Dutsov, C. (PSI, Villigen) ; Giovannozzi, M. (CERN) ; Hume, T. (PSI, Villigen ; Zurich, ETH) ; Kirch, K. (PSI, Villigen ; Zurich, ETH) ; Michielsen, K. (PSI, Villigen ; Zurich, ETH ; Ec. Polytech., Palaiseau (main)) ; Morvaj, L. (PSI, Villigen) ; Papa, A. (INFN, Pisa) et al.
At the Paul Scherrer Institut (PSI), we are currently working on the development of a high-precision apparatus with the aim of searching for the muon electric dipole moment (EDM) with unprecedented sensitivity. The underpinning principle of this experiment is the frozen-spin technique, a method that suppresses the spin precession due to the anomalous magnetic moment, thereby enhancing the signal-to-noise ratio for EDM signals. Towards a Muon Collider / Accettura, Carlotta (CERN) ; Adams, Dean (Rutherford) ; Agarwal, Rohit (UC, Berkeley (main)) ; Ahdida, Claudia (CERN) ; Aimè, Chiara (Pavia U. ; INFN, Pavia) ; Amapane, Nicola (INFN, Turin ; Turin U.) ; Amorim, David (CERN) ; Andreetto, Paolo (INFN, Padua) ; Anulli, Fabio (INFN, Rome) ; Appleby, Robert (Manchester U.) et al.
A muon collider would enable the big jump ahead in energy reach that is needed for a fruitful exploration of fundamental interactions. The challenges of producing muon collisions at high luminosity and 10 TeV centre of mass energy are being investigated by the recently-formed International Muon Collider Collaboration. [...]

Dechanneling of high energy particles in a long bent crystal / Scandale, W (CERN) ; Arduini, G (CERN) ; Cerutti, F (CERN) ; Garattini, M (CERN ; Imperial Coll., London) ; Gilardoni, S (CERN) ; Lechner, A (CERN) ; Losito, R (CERN) ; Masi, A (CERN) ; Mirarchi, D (CERN) ; Montesano, S (CERN) et al.
Experimental results on deflection of a 180 GeV/c $\pi^+$-meson beam by a 23 mm long bent silicon crystal are analyzed to study the dechanneling process of particles due to multiple scattering. A new approach for the determination of contributions from atomic nuclei and electrons to the multiple scattering using the experimental data for random crystal orientations is suggested. [...]

Feasibility of crystal-assisted collimation in the CERN accelerator complex / UA9 Collaboration
Bent silicon crystals mounted on high-accuracy angular actuators were installed in the CERN Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS) and extensively tested to assess the feasibility of crystal-assisted collimation in circular hadron colliders. The adopted layout was exploited and regularly upgraded for about a decade by the UA9 Collaboration. [...]

Multiple scattering of channeled and non-channeled positively charged particles in bent monocrystalline silicon / Scandale, W. (CERN) ; Arduini, G. (CERN) ; Cerutti, F. (CERN) ; Esposito, L.S. (CERN) ; Garattini, M. (CERN) ; Gilardoni, S. (CERN) ; Losito, R. (CERN) ; Masi, A. (CERN) ; Mirarchi, D. (CERN) ; Montesano, S. (CERN) et al.
We present the results of an experimental study of multiple scattering of positively charged high energy particles in bent samples of monocrystalline silicon. This work confirms the recently discovered effect of a strong reduction in the rms multiple scattering angle of particles channeled in the silicon (111) plane. [...]

Muon detection in electron-positron annihilation for muon collider studies / LEMMA Collaboration
The investigation of the energy frontier in physics requires novel concepts for future colliders. The idea of a muon collider is very appealing since it would allow to study particle collisions at up to tens of TeV energy, while offering a cleaner experimental environment with respect to hadronic colliders. [...]

Extraction of the multi-TeV proton and lead LHC beams with a bent crystal or by using an internal gas target allows one to perform the most energetic fixed-target experiment ever. $pp$, pd and $p$A collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}$ = 115 GeV and Pb$p$ and PbA collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}$ = 72 GeV can be studied with high precision and modern detection techniques over a broad rapidity range.
