Integration of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center for CMS computing: Towards large scale production / Acosta-Silva, C (PIC, Bellaterra ; Barcelona, IFAE) ; Peris, A Delgado (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Molina, J Flix (PIC, Bellaterra ; Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Hernández, J M (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Yzquierdo, A Pérez-Calero (PIC, Bellaterra ; Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Sánchez, E Pineda (Barcelona, Autonoma U.) ; Domínguez, I Villalonga (Barcelona, Autonoma U.) /CMS Collaboration
The CMS experiment is working to integrate an increasing number of High Performance Computing (HPC) resources into its distributed computing infrastructure. The case of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) is particularly challenging as severe network restrictions prevent the use of CMS standard computing solutions. [...]

The increasingly larger data volumes that the LHC experiments will accumulate in the coming years, especially in the High-Luminosity LHC era, call for a paradigm shift in the way experimental datasets are accessed and analyzed. The current model, based on data reduction on the Grid infrastructure, followed by interactive data analysis of manageable size samples on the physicists’ individual computers, will be superseded by the adoption of Analysis Facilities. Lightweight site federation for CMS support / Acosta-Silva, C (PIC, Bellaterra ; Barcelona, IFAE) ; Peris, A Delgado (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Flix, J (PIC, Bellaterra ; Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Guerrero, J M (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Hernández, J M (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Yzquierdo, A Pérez-Calero (PIC, Bellaterra ; Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Calonge, F J Rodriguez (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Gómez-Pulgar, J (Madrid, CIEMAT) /CMS Collaboration
There is a general trend in WLCG towards the federation of resources, aiming for increased simplicity, efficiency, flexibility, and availability. Although general VO-agnostic federation of resources between two independent and autonomous resource centres may prove arduous, a considerable amount of flexibility in resource sharing can be achieved in the context of a single WLCG VO, with a relatively simple approach. Search for low-mass dilepton resonances in Higgs boson decays to four-lepton final states in proton–proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=13\,\text {TeV} $ / CMS Collaboration
A search for low-mass dilepton resonances in Higgs boson decays is conducted in the four-lepton final state. The decay is assumed to proceed via a pair of beyond the standard model particles, or one such particle and a Z boson. [...]

Exploiting CRIC to streamline the configuration management of GlideinWMS factories for CMS support / Dost, Jeffrey (UC, San Diego) ; Mascheroni, Marco (UC, San Diego) ; Andreeva, Julia (CERN) ; Anisenkov, Alexey (Novosibirsk State U. ; Novosibirsk, IYF) ; Box, Dennis (Fermilab) ; Di Girolamo, Alessandro (CERN) ; Haleem, Saqib (NCP, Islamabad) ; Kizinevič, Edita (Vilnius U.) ; Majewski, Krista (Fermilab) ; Letts, James (UC, San Diego) et al.
GlideinWMS is a workload management and provisioning system that allows sharing computing resources distributed over independent sites. Based on the requests made by GlideinWMS frontends, a dynamically sized pool of resources is created by GlideinWMS pilot factories via pilot job submission to resource sites’ CEs. [...]

Multicore job scheduling in the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid / Forti, A (Manchester U.) ; Yzquierdo, A P (PIC, Bellaterra ; Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Hartmann, T (KIT, Karlsruhe, SCC) ; Alef, M (KIT, Karlsruhe, SCC) ; Lahiff, A (Rutherford) ; Templon, J (NIKHEF, Amsterdam) ; Pra, S Dal (INFN, CNAF) ; Gila, M (Zurich, ETH-CSCS/SCSC) ; Skipsey, S (Glasgow U.) ; Acosta-Silva, C (PIC, Bellaterra ; Barcelona, IFAE) et al.
After the successful first run of the LHC, data taking is scheduled to restart in Summer 2015 with experimental conditions leading to increased data volumes and event complexity. In order to process the data generated in such scenario and exploit the multicore architectures of current CPUs, the LHC experiments have developed parallelized software for data reconstruction and simulation. The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) experiments will collect unprecedented data volumes in the next Physics run, with high pile-up collisions resulting in events that require a complex processing. Hence, the collaborations have been required to update their Computing Models to optimize the use of the available resources and control the growth of resources, in the midst of widespread funding restrictions, without penalizing any of the Physics objectives. Measurement of $J/\psi$ production in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV / LHCb Collaboration
The production of J/psi mesons in proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s)=7 TeV is studied with the LHCb detector at the LHC. The differential cross-section for prompt J/psi production is measured as a function of the J/psi transverse momentum pT and rapidity y in the fiducial region 0<pT<14 GeV/c and 2.0<y<4.5. [...]

First observation of $\overline{B}^{0}_{s} \to D^{*+}_{s2}X\mu^{-}\overline{\nu}$ decays / LHCb Collaboration
Using data collected with the LHCb detector in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV, the semileptonic decays Bs -> Ds+ X mu nu and Bs -> D0 K+ X mu nu are detected. Two structures are observed in the D0 K+ mass spectrum at masses consistent with the known D^+_{s1}(2536) and $D^{*+}_{s2}(2573) mesons. [...]
