The physics program of the HL-LHC requires high-precision (≲1%) luminosity determination. Two new luminosity detectors are being developed by the CMS BRIL (Beam Radiation, Instrumentation, and Luminosity) project: the Fast Beam Condition Monitor (FBCM), a standalone detector with unique timing capabilities, and the Tracker Endcap Pixel (TEPX) detector augmented with real-time cluster reconstruction in the FPGA of a dedicated back-end board at 10% of the full level-1 trigger rate. First of its kind, the barrel section of the MIP Timing Detector is a large area timing detector based on LYSO:Ce crystals and SiPMs which are required to operate in an unprecedentedly harsh radiation environment (up to an integrated fluence of $2\times10^{14}$ 1 MeV $n_{eq}/cm^2$). It is designed as a key element of the upgrade of the existing CMS detector to provide a time resolution for minimum ionizing particles in the range between 30-60 ps throughout the entire operation at the High Luminosity LHC. Multichannel Radiation-Compensated Systems for Temperature and Humidity Monitoring for High Energy Physics Detectors / Kapic, Amar (CERN) ; Tsirou, Andromachi (CERN) ; Giorgio Verdini, Piero (INFN, Pisa) ; Carrara, Sandro
Monitoring humidity and temperature in silicon-based high-energy physics (HEP) detectors is indispensable but challenging due to space restrictions, radiation, sub-zero temperatures, and strong magnetic fields. This manuscript presents humidity and temperature monitoring systems with radiation compensation suitable for integration in HEP environments. [...]

Measurement of the inclusive cross sections for W and Z boson production in proton-proton collisions at $ \sqrt{s}= $ 5.02 and 13 TeV / CMS Collaboration
Measurements of fiducial and total inclusive cross sections for W and Z boson production are presented in proton-proton collisions at $ \sqrt{s}= $ 5.02 and 13 TeV. Electron and muon decay modes ($ \ell=\mathrm{e} $ or $ \mu $) are studied in the data collected with the CMS detector in 2017, in dedicated runs with reduced instantaneous luminosity. [...]
