Measurement of the charge asymmetry of electrons from the decays of W bosons produced in pˉp collisions at s=1.96 TeV / CDF Collaboration
At the Fermilab Tevatron proton-antiproton (pˉp) collider, high-mass electron-neutrino (eν) pairs are produced predominantly in the process pˉpW(eν)+X. The asymmetry of the electron and positron yield as a function of their pseudorapidity constrain the slope of the ratio of the u- to d-quark parton distributions versus the fraction of the proton momentum carried by the quarks. [...]

The CDF II eXtremely Fast Tracker (XFT) is the trigger processor which reconstructs charged particle tracks in the transverse plane of the central tracking chamber. The XFT tracks are also extrapolated to the electromagnetic calorimeter and muon chambers to generate trigger electron and muon candidates. [...]

A Study of the Energy Dependence of the Underlying Event in Proton-Antiproton Collisions / for the CDF Collaboration
We study charged particle production in proton-antiproton collisions at 300 GeV, 900 GeV, and 1.96 TeV. We use the direction of the charged particle with the largest transverse momentum in each event to define three regions of eta-phi space; toward, away, and transverse. [...]

We present a measurement of the W-boson mass, MW, using data corresponding to 2.2/fb of integrated luminosity collected in ppbar collisions at s = 1.96 TeV with the CDF II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. The selected sample of 470126 Weν candidates and 624708 Wμν candidates yields the measurement MW=80387±12 (stat) ±15 (syst)=80387±19 MeV/c2 . [...]

Study of orbitally excited B mesons and evidence for a new Bπ resonance / Aaltonen, Timo Antero (Helsinki U. ; Helsinki Inst. of Phys.) ; Amerio, Silvia (INFN, Padua ; Padua U.) ; Amidei, Dante E (Michigan U.) ; Anastassov, Anton Iankov (Fermilab ; Northwestern U.) ; Annovi, Alberto (Frascati) ; Antos, Jaroslav (Comenius U. ; Kosice, IEF) ; Apollinari, Giorgio (Fermilab) ; Appel, Jeffrey A (Fermilab) ; Arisawa, Tetsuo (Waseda U.) ; Artikov, Akram Muzafarovich (Dubna, JINR) et al. /R. C. Group
Using the full CDF Run II data sample, we report evidence for a new resonance, which we refer to as B(5970), found simultaneously in the B0π+ and B+π mass distributions with a significance of 4.4 standard deviations. We further report the first study of resonances consistent with orbitally excited B+ mesons and an updated measurement of the properties of orbitally excited B0 and B0s mesons. [...]

We report on a measurement of the top-quark electric charge in ttbar events in which one W boson originating from the top-quark pair decays into leptons and the other into hadrons. The event sample was collected by the CDF II detector in sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV proton-antiproton collisions and corresponds to 5.6 fb^(-1). [...]

We present a search for new phenomena in events with two reconstructed Z bosons and large missing transverse momentum, sensitive to processes pˉpX2X2ZZX1X1, where X2 is an unstable particle decaying as X2ZX1 and X1 is undetected. The particles X1 and X2 may be, among other possibilities, fourth generation neutrinos or supersymmetric particles. [...]

We present a new method to measure the top quark pair production cross section and the background rates with 2.7 fb1 of data from pˉp collisions at s=1.96 TeV collected with the CDF II Detector. The size of the dataset was chosen to directly show the improvements of this new method. [...]
