Reflectivity Studies and Production of New Flat Mirrors for the Cherenkov Threshold Detectors at CERN / Buesa Orgaz, Jan (CERN) ; Van Dijk, Maarten (CERN) ; Banerjee, Dipanwita (CERN) ; Bernhard, Johannes (CERN) ; Brugger, Markus (CERN) ; Charitonidis, Nikolaos (CERN) ; Ebn Rahmoun, Aboubakr (CERN) ; Lazzaroni, Michael (CERN) ; Marchand, Vincent (CERN) ; Ortega Ruiz, Inaki (CERN) et al.
Cherenkov threshold detectors (XCET) are used for identifying particles in the experimental areas at CERN. These detectors observe Cherenkov light emitted by charged particles travelling inside a pressurized gas vessel. [...]

Managing the beamline configuration in the experimental areas / Romagnoli, Giulia (speaker) (CERN)
In the last years, the BE-EA Group has applied the configuration management strategy developed by EN-ACE to the experimental areas (North and East Area, AD and ELENA Complex, HiRadMat Facility) to have a clear and coherent picture of any beamline at a given point in time. As an essential tool for quality management, configuration management facilitates an increased physics time for the facilities due to an optimized reliability and availability of the beamline components thanks to its efficient processes. New optics design of the Cherenkov threshold detectors at CERN / Buesa Orgaz, Jan (CERN) ; Schwinzerl, Martin (CERN) ; Bernhard, Johannes (CERN) ; Brugger, Markus (CERN) ; Charitonidis, Nikolaos (CERN) ; Folch, Ramon (CERN) ; Göktürk, Berare (CERN) ; Kadi, Yacine (CERN) ; Nevay, Laurence (CERN) ; Ortega Ruiz, Inaki (CERN) et al.
The performance of the Cherenkov threshold detectors (XCET) used in the secondary beam areas (SBA) at CERN is limited by their built-in optics. This study showcases an improved design using compound parabolic concentrators (CPCs) to reduce size and cost of the optics while optimizing the light collection efficiency. [...]

CERN’s East Experimental Area: A New Modern Physics Facility / Evrard, Sebastien (CERN) ; Banerjee, Dipanwita (CERN) ; Bernhard, Johannes (CERN) ; Carvalho, Filipa (CERN) ; Danzeca, Salvatore (CERN) ; Lazzaroni, Michael (CERN) ; Rae, Bastien (CERN) ; Romagnoli, Giulia (CERN)
CERN’s East Area has hosted a variety of fixed-target experiments since the 1950s, using four beamlines from the Proton Synchrotron (PS). Over the past 4 years, the experimental area - CERN’s second largest - has undergone a complete makeover. [...]

Finite Element Analysis and Experimental Validation of Low-Pressure Beam Windows for XCET Detectors at CERN / Buesa Orgaz, Jan (CERN) ; Brugger, Markus (CERN) ; Romagnoli, Giulia (CERN) ; Sacristan De Frutos, Oscar (CERN) ; Sanchez Galan, Francisco (CERN)
In the framework of the renovation and consolidation of experimental areas at CERN, a low-pressure design beam superimposed windows (250 µm Mylar and 150 µm polyethylene) for the Threshold Cherenkov counters (XCET) has been modelled and verified for its implementation. The XCET is a detector used to count the number of selected charged particles in the beam by adjusting the pressure that leads to the emission of Cherenkov photons only above certain pressure threshold. [...]

Construction and Installation of the New CERN Proton Synchrotron Internal Beam Dumps / Andersen, Kristian G (CERN) ; Calviani, Marco (CERN) ; Cherif, Ahmed (CERN) ; Coiffet, Thibaut (CERN) ; De Macedo, Aurelio (CERN) ; Devidal, Sylvain (CERN) ; Geisser, Jean-Marie (CERN) ; Gilardoni, Simone S (CERN) ; Gillet, Martin (CERN) ; Grenier-Boley, Edouard (CERN) et al.
In the framework of the CERN Large Hadron Collider Injectors Upgrade (LIU) Project, the Proton Synchrotron (PS) has been equipped with two new movable Internal Dumps (PSID), each of them capable of absorbing particle beams of an energy of up to 100 kJ. These dumps replace the old Internal Dumps, which have been operated in the accelerator complex since their installation in 1975 until their decommissioning and removal from the machine during the second LHC Long Shut down (LS2).
