Long-Baseline Atom Interferometry
/ TVLBAI Proto Collaboration
Long-baseline atom interferometry is a promising technique for probing various aspects of fundamental physics, astrophysics and cosmology, including searches for ultralight dark matter (ULDM) and for gravitational waves (GWs) in the frequency range around 1~Hz that is not covered by present and planned detectors using laser interferometry. This summary of the second Terrestrial Very-Long-Baseline Atom Interferometry (TVLBAI) Workshop provides a comprehensive overview of our meeting held in London in April 2024, building on the initial discussions during the inaugural workshop held at CERN in March 2023. Like the summary of the first workshop, this document records a critical milestone for the international atom interferometry community. [...]

The nature of dark matter and properties of neutrinos are among the most pressing issues in contemporary particle physics. The dual-phase xenon time-projection chamber is the leading technology to cover the available parameter space for Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs), while featuring extensive sensitivity to many alternative dark matter candidates. Measurement of $J/\psi$ polarization in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV
/ LHCb collaboration
An angular analysis of the decay $J/\psi \rightarrow \mu^{+} \mu^{-}$ is performed to measure the polarization of prompt $J/\psi$ mesons produced in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=7 \mathrm{TeV}$. The dataset corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 0.37 fb$^{-1}$ collected with the LHCb detector. [...]

Measurement of the polarization amplitudes in $B^0 \to J/\psi K^{*}(892)^0$ decays
/ LHCb collaboration
An analysis of the decay $B^0 \to J/\psi K^{*}(892)^0$ is presented using data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb$^{-1}$, collected in $pp$ collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7TeV with the LHCb detector. The polarisation amplitudes and the corresponding phases are measured to be \[ \begin{array}{cclllllll} |A_{\parallel}|^2 &\;=\; & 0.227 &\pm & 0.004 & \text{(stat.)} &\pm & 0.011 & \text{(syst.)}, \\ |A_{\perp}|^2 &\;=\; & 0.201 &\pm & 0.004 & \text{(stat.)} &\pm & 0.008&\text{(syst.)},\\ \delta_{\parallel}\; \text{[rad]} &\;=\; & -2.94 &\pm & 0.02 &\text{(stat.)} &\pm &0.03&\text{(syst.)},\\ \delta_{\perp}\; \text{[rad]} &\;=\; & \phantom{-}2.94 &\pm & 0.02 &\text{(stat.)} &\pm &0.02&\text{(syst.)}.\\ \end{array} \] Comparing $B^0\to J/\psi K^{*}(892){^0}$ and $\overline{B}^0\to J/\psi \overline K^{*}(892){^0}$ decays, no evidence for direct CP violation is found..

Measurement of $B$ meson production cross-sections in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$ 7 TeV
/ LHCb Collaboration
The production cross-sections of $B$ mesons are measured using data, corresponding to a integrated luminosity of $0.36{\rm fb^{-1}}$, collected with the LHCb detector at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. The $B^+$, $B^0$ and $B_s^0$ mesons are reconstructed in the exclusive decays $B^+\to J/\psi K$, $B^0\to J/\psi K^{*0}$ and $B^0_s\to J/\psi\phi$, with $J/\psi\to\mu^+\mu^-$, $K^{*0}\to K^+\pi^-$ and $\phi\to K^+K^-$.
