Study of dijet events with a large rapidity gap between the two leading jets in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV / CMS Collaboration
Events with no charged particles produced between the two leading jets are studied in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV. The jets were required to have transverse momentum $p_\mathrm{T}^{\text{jet}}$ > 40 GeV and pseudorapidity 1.5 $<|\eta^{\text{jet}}| <$ 4.7, and to have values of $\eta^{\text{jet}}$ with opposite signs. Search for natural supersymmetry in events with top quark pairs and photons in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s} =$ 8 TeV / CMS Collaboration
Results are presented from a search for natural gauge-mediated supersymmetry (SUSY) in a scenario in which the top squark is the lightest squark, the next-to-lightest SUSY particle is a bino-like neutralino, and the lightest SUSY particle is the gravitino. The strong production of top squark pairs can produce events with pairs of top quarks and neutralinos, with each bino-like neutralino decaying to a photon and a gravitino. [...]

A search for Higgs boson pair production in the $\mathrm{ b }\mathrm{ b }\tau\tau$ final state in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = $ 8 TeV / CMS Collaboration
Results are presented from a search for production of Higgs boson pairs (HH) where one boson decays to a pair of b quarks and the other to a $\tau$ lepton pair. This work is based on proton-proton collision data collected by the CMS experiment at $ \sqrt{s} = $ 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 18.3 fb$^{-1}$. [...]

Measurement of charged pion, kaon, and proton production in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = $ 13 TeV / CMS Collaboration
Transverse momentum spectra of charged pions, kaons, and protons are measured in proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s) = 13 TeV with the CMS detector at the LHC. The particles, identified via their energy loss in the silicon tracker, are measured in the transverse momentum range of pt ~ 0.1-1.7 GeV and rapidities abs(y) < 1. [...]

Exclusive and semi-exclusive $\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ production in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = $ 7 TeV / CMS Collaboration
A measurement is presented of the exclusive and semi-exclusive production of charged pion pairs in proton-proton collisions, $\mathrm{ p p }\to\mathrm{ p }({\mathrm{p}^*} )+ \pi^{+}\pi^{-}+ \mathrm{ p } ({\mathrm{p}^*} )$, where the $\pi^{+} \pi^{-}$ pair is emitted at central rapidities, and the scattered protons stay intact ($\mathrm{p}$) or diffractively dissociate (${\mathrm{p}^*} $) without detection. Measurement of the semileptonic $\mathrm{ t \bar{t} }$+$\gamma$ production cross section in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$ 8 TeV / CMS Collaboration
A measurement of the cross section for top quark-antiquark (tt-bar) pairs produced in association with a photon in proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s) = 8 TeV is presented. The analysis uses data collected with the CMS detector at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 inverse femtobarns. [...]

Suppression of Excited $\Upsilon$ States Relative to the Ground State in Pb-Pb Collisions at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}$=5.02 TeV / CMS Collaboration
The relative yields of $\Upsilon$ mesons produced in pp and PbPb collisions at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV and reconstructed via the dimuon decay channel are measured using data collected by the CMS experiment. Double ratios are formed by comparing the yields of the excited states, $\Upsilon$(2S) and $\Upsilon$(3S), to the ground state, $\Upsilon$(1S), in both PbPb and pp collisions at the same center-of-mass energy. Measurements of jet charge with dijet events in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=8$ TeV / CMS Collaboration

Particle-flow reconstruction and global event description with the CMS detector / CMS Collaboration
The CMS apparatus was identified, a few years before the start of the LHC operation at CERN, to feature properties well suited to particle-flow (PF) reconstruction: a highly-segmented tracker, a fine-grained electromagnetic calorimeter, a hermetic hadron calorimeter, a strong magnetic field, and an excellent muon spectrometer. A fully-fledged PF reconstruction algorithm tuned to the CMS detector was therefore developed and has been consistently used in physics analyses for the first time at a hadron collider. [...]
