The CMS data acquisition (DAQ) is implemented as a service-oriented architecture where DAQ applications, as well as general applications such as monitoring and error reporting, are run as self-contained services. The task of deployment and operation of services is achieved by using several heterogeneous facilities, custom configuration data and scripts in several languages. [...]

The CMS Orbit Builder for the HL-LHC at CERN

The Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at CERN incorporates one of the highest throughput data acquisition systems in the world and is expected to increase its throughput by more than a factor of ten for High-Luminosity phase of Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC).To achieve this goal, the system will be upgraded in most of its components. Among them, the event builder software, in charge of assembling all thedata read out from the different sub-detectors, is planned to be modified from a single event builder to an orbit builder that assembles multipleevents at the same time. MiniDAQ-3: providing concurrent independent subdetector data-taking on CMS production DAQ resources
/ Amoiridis, Vasileios (CERN) ; Behrens, Ulf (Rice U.) ; Bocci, Andrea (CERN) ; Branson, James (UC, San Diego) ; Brummer, Philipp Maximilian (CERN) ; Cano, Eric (CERN) ; Cittolin, Sergio (UC, San Diego) ; Quintanilha, Joao (CERN) ; Darlea, Georgiana Lavinia (MIT) ; Deldicque, Christian (CERN) et al.
The data acquisition (DAQ) of the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at CERN, collects data for events accepted by the Level-1 Trigger from the different detector systems and assembles them in an event builder prior to making them available for further selection in the High Level Trigger, and finally storing the selected events for offline analysis. In addition to the central DAQ providing global acquisition functionality, several separate, so-called "MiniDAQ" setups allow operating independent data acquisition runs using an arbitrary subset of the CMS subdetectors. First year of experience with the new operational monitoring tool for data taking in CMS during Run~3

The Online Monitoring System (OMS) at the Compact Muon Solenoid experiment at CERN aggregates and integrates different sources of information into a central place and allows users to view, compare and correlate information. It displays real-time and historical information.
The tool is heavily used by run coordinators, trigger experts and shift crews, to ensure the quality and efficiency of data taking. [...]

$\Lambda_c^+$ polarimetry using the dominant hadronic mode
/ LHCb Collaboration
The polarimeter vector field for multibody decays of a spin-half baryon is introduced as a generalisation of the baryon asymmetry parameters. Using a recent amplitude analysis of the $\Lambda_c^+ \to p K^- \pi^+$ decay performed at the LHCb experiment, we compute the distribution of the kinematic-dependent polarimeter vector for this process in the space of Mandelstam variables to express the polarised decay rate in a model-agnostic form. Associated production of prompt $J/\psi$ and $\mathit{\Upsilon}$ mesons in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=13\,\mathrm{TeV}$
/ LHCb Collaboration
The associated production of prompt $J/\psi$ and $\mathit{\mathit{\Upsilon}}$ mesons in $pp$ collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=13\,\mathrm{TeV}$ is studied using LHCb data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $4\,\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$. The measurement is performed for $J/\psi$ ($\mathit{\Upsilon}$) mesons with a transverse momentum $p_{\mathrm{T}}<10\,(30)\mathrm{GeV}/c$ in the rapidity range $2.0 < y < 4.5$. [...]

Measurement of $\Xi^{+}_{c}$ production in pPb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}=8.16$ TeV at LHCb
/ LHCb Collaboration
A study of prompt $\Xi_{c}^{+}$ production in proton-lead collisions is performed with the LHCb experiment at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of 8.16 TeV in 2016 in $p$Pb and Pb$p$ collisions with an estimated integrated luminosity of approximately 12.5 and 17.4 nb$^{-1}$, respectively. The $\Xi_{c}^{+}$ production cross-section, as well as the $\Xi_{c}^{+}$ to $\Lambda_{c}^{+}$ production cross-section ratio, are measured as a function of the transverse momentum and rapidity and compared to latest theory predictions. Search for $\it{CP}$ violation in $D_{(s)}^{+}\rightarrow K^{-}K^{+}K^{+}$ decays
/ LHCb Collaboration
A search for direct $\it{CP}$ violation in the Cabibbo-suppressed decay $D_{s}^{+}\rightarrow K^{-}K^{+}K^{+}$ and in the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed decay $D^{+}\rightarrow K^{-}K^{+}K^{+}$ is reported. The analysis is performed with data collected by the LHCb experiment in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.6 $\textrm{fb}^{-1}$. Observation of new $\Omega_c^{0}$ states decaying to the $\Xi_c^+ K^-$ final state
/ LHCb Collaboration
Two new excited states, $\Omega_c(3185)^0$ and $\Omega_c(3327)^0$, are observed in the $\Xi_c^{+}K^{-}$ invariant-mass spectrum using proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $9\,{\rm fb}^{-1}$. Five previously observed excited $\Omega_c^0$ states are confirmed, namely $\Omega_c(3000)^0$, $\Omega_c(3050)^0$, $\Omega_c(3065)^0$, $\Omega_c(3090)^0$, and $\Omega_c(3119)^0$. [...]
