The LHCb detector has undergone a major upgrade for LHC Run 3. This Upgrade I detector facilitates operation at higher luminosity and utilises full-detector information at the LHC collision rate, critically including the use of vertex information. [...]

Hadronic vacuum polarization in the muon $g-2$: The short-distance contribution from lattice QCD / Kuberski, Simon (CERN) ; Cè, Marco (INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Milan Bicocca U. We present results for the short-distance window observable of the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the muon $g-2$, computed via the time-momentum representation (TMR) in lattice QCD. A key novelty of our calculation is the reduction of discretization effects by a suitable subtraction applied to the TMR kernel function, which cancels the leading $x_0^4$-behaviour at short distances. In a somewhat forgotten paper [1] it was shown how to perform interpolations between relativistic and static computations in order to obtain results for heavy-light observables for masses from, say, $m_{\rm charm}$ to $m_{\rm bottom}$. All quantities are first continuum extrapolated and then interpolated in $1/m_h=1/m_{\rm heavy}$. [...]

We present preliminary results for B-physics from a combination of non-perturbative results in the static limit with relativistic computations satisfying $am_{\mathrm{heavy}}\ll 1$. Relativistic measurements are carried out at the physical b-quark mass using the Schrödinger Functional in a $0.5 \ \mathrm{fm}$ box. [...]

The LHCb upgrade I / LHCb Collaboration
The LHCb upgrade represents a major change of the experiment. The detectors have been almost completely renewed to allow running at an instantaneous luminosity five times larger than that of the previous running periods. [...]

High-resolution, low-latency, bunch-by-bunch feedback system for nanobeam stabilization / Bett, D.R. (JAI, UK ; CERN) ; Blaskovic Kraljevic, N. (JAI, UK ; Lund U., MAX-lab) ; Bromwich, T. We report the design, operation and performance of a high-resolution, low-latency, bunch-by-bunch feedback system for nano-beam stabilisation. The system employs novel, ultra-low quality-factor cavity beam position monitors (BPMs), a two-stage analogue signal down-mixing system, and a digital signal processing and feedback board incorporating an FPGA. Following the publication of the new measurement of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, the discrepancy between experiment and the theory prediction from the $g-2$ theory initiative has increased to $4.2\,\sigma$. Recent lattice QCD calculations predict values for the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution that are larger than the data-driven estimates, bringing the Standard Model prediction closer to the experimental measurement. Searches for new phenomena in leptonic final states using the ATLAS detector / Wilbern, Daniel John (University of Oklahoma (US)) /ATLAS Collaboration
Many theories beyond the Standard Model predict new phenomena, such as Z', W' bosons, KK gravitons, or heavy leptons, in final states with isolated, high-pT leptons (e/mu/tau) or photons. Searches for new physics with such signatures, produced either resonantly or non-resonantly, are performed using the ATLAS experiment at the LHC. [...]

Euclidean time windows in the integral representation of the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the muon $g-2$ serve to test the consistency of lattice calculations and may help in tracing the origins of a potential tension between lattice and data-driven evaluations. In this paper, we present results for the intermediate time window observable computed using O($a$) improved Wilson fermions at six values of the lattice spacings below 0.1 fm and pion masses down to the physical value.
