Superconducting magnets technology for a European heavy ion gantry / Prioli, Marco (LASA, Segrate) ; Santini, Carlo (LASA, Segrate) ; Barna, Daniel (Wigner RCP, Budapest) ; Gusvitskii, Todor (Rome U.) ; Perini, Diego (CERN) ; Bianchi, E (INFN, Genoa) ; Felcini, Enrico (CNAO, Milan) ; De Matteis, Ernesto (LASA, Segrate) ; Toral, Fernando (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Levi, Filippo (INFN, Genoa) et al.
Various initiatives in Europe have been launched to study superconducting magnets for a rotatable gantry suitable to deliver up to 430 MeV/u carbon ions for hadron therapy. Different technologies and layouts are being considered: the baseline solution is developed within the EuroSIG collaboration and consists of a strongly curved cos-$\theta$ dipole based on the classical NbTi superconductor. Modeling Results of the Quench Behavior of a Nb-Ti Canted-Cosine-Theta Corrector Magnet for LHC / Bagni, T (Uppsala U.) ; Ahl, A (Scanditronix Instrument, Uppsala) ; Almström, M (Linnaeus U.) ; Canale, M (CERN) ; Dugic, I (Linnaeus U.) ; Emilsson, F (AMACC, Uppsala) ; Gentini, L (CERN) ; Haralanova, V (Linnaeus U.) ; Johansson, M (Unlisted, SE) ; Karlsson, G (Linnaeus U.) et al.
A newly designed superconducting magnet of the Canted-Cosine-Theta (CCT) type was developed as a result of a collaboration between Swedish universities (Uppsala and Linneaus) and Swedish industries. This magnet was designed to function as a replacement of the present LHC orbit corrector magnets, which are approaching their end of life due to the radiation load. [...]

Curved-Canted-Cosine-Theta (CCCT) Dipole Prototype Development at CERN / Haziot, Ariel (CERN) ; Kirby, Glyn (CERN) ; Dallocchio, Alessandro (CERN) ; Devred, Arnaud (CERN) ; Foussat, Arnaud (CERN) ; Gentini, Luca (CERN) ; Mangiarotti, Franco J (CERN) ; Pentella, Mariano (CERN) ; Petrone, Carlo (CERN) ; Pincot, Francois-Olivier (CERN) et al.
Due to its flexibility in generating advanced field harmonic corrections and potential for low cost compared to traditional designs, the Canted Cosine Theta (CCT) configuration is particularly interesting for compact particle accelerators and gantries for medical applications. This article presents the design of a curved demonstrator named Fusillo, a Canted Cosine Theta Nb-Ti dipole magnet that is being developed at CERN, featuring a large aperture of 236 mm, a small bending radius of 1 m, a bending angle of 90$^{\circ }$, and multi-harmonic field correction, with a 3.61 T conductor peak field.
