We present a systematic comparison of two state-of-the-art tools for the simulation of Higgs-pair production via vector boson fusion (VBF) as implemented in GoSam+Whizard and the POWHEG-BOX. Cross sections and distributions are provided within the Standard Model and beyond within scenarios typical for experimental analyses and for a range of energies of relevance to the LHC and its upcoming high luminosity phase. We present state-of-the-art predictions for the inclusive cross section of gluon-initiated $ZH$ production, following the recommendations of the LHC Higgs Working Group. In particular, we include NLO QCD corrections, where the virtual corrections are obtained from the combination of a forward expansion and a high-energy expansion, and the real corrections are exact. The aim of the GBAR (Gravitational Behavior of Antimatter at Rest) experiment is to measure the free fall acceleration of an antihydrogen atom, in the terrestrial gravitational field at CERN and therefore test the Weak Equivalence Principle with antimatter. We analyze the transverse stability for a configuration of multiple gaussian bunches subject to the self-generated plasma wakefield. Through a semi-analytical approach we first study the equilibrium configuration for the modulated beam and then we investigate the evolution of the equilibrium configuration due to the emittance-driven expansion of the beam front that results in a rigid backward shift.
