From unphysical gluon and ghost propagators to physical glueball propagators (in the Gribov-Zwanziger picture): a not so trivial task? / Dudal, David (Gent U.) ; Vandersickel, Nele (Gent U.) ; Baulieu, Laurent (Paris, LPTHE ; CERN) ; Sorella, Silvio P. (Rio de Janeiro State U.) ; Guimaraes, Marcelo S. (Rio de Janeiro State U.) ; Huber, Markus Q. (Jena U.) ; Oliveira, Orlando (Coimbra U.) ; Zwanziger, Daniel (New York U.)
During recent years, a good agreement was found between the analytical derivation and the numerical simulation of the Landau gauge gluon and ghost propagators. We mention the Schwinger-Dyson and Gribov-Zwanziger formalism for the analytical work. [...]

Gribov horizon and BRST symmetry: a pathway to confinement / Sorella, S.P. (Rio de Janeiro State U.) ; Baulieu, L. (CERN ; Paris, LPTHE) ; Dudal, D. (Gent U.) ; Guimaraes, M.S. (Rio de Janeiro State U.) ; Huber, M.Q. (Graz U.) ; Vandersickel, N. (Gent U.) ; Zwanziger, D. (New York U.)
We summarize the construction of the Gribov-Zwanziger action and how it leads to a scenario which explains the confinement of gluons, in the sense that the elementary gluon excitations violate positivity. Then we address the question of how one can construct operators within this picture whose one-loop correlation functions have the correct analytic properties in order to correspond to physical excitations. Gribov horizon and i-particles: about a toy model and the construction of physical operators / Baulieu, L. (CERN ; Paris, LPTHE) ; Dudal, D. (Gent U.) ; Guimaraes, M.S. (Rio de Janeiro State U.) ; Huber, M.Q. (Graz U.) ; Sorella, S.P. (Rio de Janeiro State U.) ; Vandersickel, N. (Gent U.) ; Zwanziger, D. (New York U.)
Restricting the functional integral to the Gribov region $\Omega$ leads to a deep modification of the behavior of Euclidean Yang-Mills theories in the infrared region. For example, a gluon propagator of the Gribov type, $\frac{k^2}{k^4+{\hat \gamma}^4}$, can be viewed as a propagating pair of unphysical modes, called here $i$-particles, with imaginary masses $\pm i{\hat \gamma}^2$. Renormalizability of a quark-gluon model with soft BRST breaking in the infrared region / Baulieu, L. (CERN ; Paris, LPTHE) ; Capri, M.A.L. (Rio de Janeiro State U.) ; Gomez, A.J. (Rio de Janeiro State U.) ; Lemes, V.E.R. (Rio de Janeiro State U.) ; Sobreiro, R.F. (Niteroi, Fluminense U.) ; Sorella, S.P. (Rio de Janeiro State U.)
We prove the renormalizability of a quark-gluon model with a soft breaking of the BRST symmetry, which accounts for the modification of the large distance behavior of the quark and gluon correlation functions. The proof is valid to all orders of perturbation theory, by making use of softly broken Ward identities..

Soft breaking of BRST invariance for introducing non-perturbative infrared effects in a local and renormalizable way / Baulieu, L (CERN ; Paris U., VI-VII) ; Sorella, S P (Rio de Janeiro State U.)
The possibility of introducing non-perturbative infrared effects leading to a modification of the long distance behavior of gauge theories through a soft breaking of the BRST invariance is investigated. The method reproduces the Gribov-Zwanziger action describing the restriction of the domain of integration in the Feynman path integral to the Gribov region and a model for the dynamical quark mass generation is presented. Finiteness Properties of the N=4 Super-Yang--Mills Theory in Supersymmetric Gauge / Baulieu, Laurent (CERN) ; Bossard, Guillaume (Paris, LPTHE) ; Sorella, Silvio Paolo (Rio de Janeiro State U.)
With the introduction of shadow fields, we demonstrate the renormalizability of the N=4 super-Yang--Mills theory in component formalism, independently of the choice of UV regularization. Remarkably, by using twisted representations, one finds that the structure of the theory and its renormalization is determined by a subalgebra of supersymmetry that closes off-shell. [...]

Shadow Fields and Local Supersymmetric Gauges / Baulieu, L ; Bossard, G ; Sorella, S P
To control supersymmetry and gauge invariance in super-Yang-Mills theories we introduce new fields, called shadow fields, which enable us to enlarge the conventional Faddeev-Popov framework and write down a set of useful Slavnov-Taylor identities. These identities allow us to address and answer the issue of the supersymmetric Yang-Mills anomalies, and to perform the conventional renormalization programme in a fully regularization-independent way..
