Future Circular Collider Feasibility Study Report Volume 2 : Accelerators, technical infrastructure and safety
/ Benedikt, M. (ed.) (CERN) ; Zimmermann, F. (CERN) ; Auchmann, B. (CERN ; PSI, Villigen) ; Bartmann, W. (CERN) ; Burnet, J.P. (CERN) ; Carli, C. (CERN) ; Chancé, A. (IRFU, Saclay) ; Craievich, P. (PSI, Villigen) ; Giovannozzi, M. (CERN) ; Grojean, C. (DESY ; Humboldt U., Berlin) et al.
In response to the 2020 Update of the European Strategy for Particle Physics, the Future Circular Collider (FCC) Feasibility Study was launched as an international collaboration hosted by CERN. The FCC ‘integrated programme’, described in this report, in a first stage consists of a highest-luminosity electron-positron collider, FCC-ee, serving as Higgs, top and electroweak factory, with a subsequent energy-frontier proton-proton collider, FCC-hh, as the second stage. The FCC-ee is designed to operate at four baseline centre-of-mass energies, corresponding to the Z pole, the WW pair production threshold, the ZH production peak, and the top/anti-top production threshold, always delivering the highest possible luminosities to four experiments. Future Circular Collider Feasibility Study Report Volume 3 : Civil Engineering, Implementation and Sustainability
/ Benedikt, M. (CERN) ; Zimmermann, F. (CERN) ; Auchmann, B. (CERN ; PSI, Villigen) ; Bartmann, W. (CERN) ; Burnet, J.P. (CERN) ; Carli, C. (CERN) ; Chancé, A. (IRFU, Saclay) ; Craievich, P. (PSI, Villigen) ; Giovannozzi, M. (CERN) ; Grojean, C. (DESY ; Humboldt U., Berlin) et al.
Volume 3 of the FCC Feasibility Report presents studies related to civil engineering, the development of a project implementation scenario, and environmental and sustainability aspects. The report details the iterative improvements made to the civil engineering concepts since 2018, taking into account subsurface conditions, accelerator and experiment requirements, and territorial considerations. Future Circular Collider Feasibility Study Report Volume 1 : Physics and Experiments
/ Benedikt, M. (CERN) ; Zimmermann, F. (CERN) ; Auchmann, B. (CERN ; PSI, Villigen) ; Bartmann, W. (CERN) ; Burnet, J.P. (CERN) ; Carli, C. (CERN) ; Chancé, A. (IRFU, Saclay) ; Craievich, P. (PSI, Villigen) ; Giovannozzi, M. (CERN) ; Grojean, C. (DESY ; Humboldt U., Berlin) et al.
Volume 1 of the FCC Feasibility Report presents an overview of the physics case, experimental programme, and detector concepts for the Future Circular Collider (FCC). This volume outlines how the FCC would address some of the most profound open questions in particle physics, from precision studies of the Higgs and EW bosons and of the top quark, to the exploration of physics beyond the Standard Model. Availability and luminosity in the Future Circular Electron-Positron Collider (FCC-ee)
/ Heron, Jack (CERN) ; Blaszkiewicz, Milosz (CERN) ; Felsberger, Lukas (CERN) ; Uythoven, Jan (CERN) ; Wollmann, Daniel (CERN)
The Future Circular Electron-Positron Collider (FCC-ee) is CERN's leading proposal for the next generation of energy-frontier particle accelerators. To reach integrated luminosity goals, it aims to be operational for minimum 80 % of the scheduled 185 physics days each year. [...]

Development of a second-generation system for the reliable distribution of machine protection parameters

The Safe Machine Parameter (SMP) system is an electronic hardware-based system which has been an integral part of the LHC’s machine protection strategy since it started operation. Its primary objective is to provide several parameters and interlock signals to critical machine protection users across the LHC and SPS accelerators, whilst prioritizing high reliability and availability. Quantitative availability modelling for the MYRRHA accelerator driven system
/ Felsberger, L (CERN) ; Uythoven, J (CERN) ; Apollonio, A (CERN) ; Dorda, U (SCK-CEN, Mol) ; van de Walle, J (SCK-CEN, Mol) ; Vandeplassche, D (SCK-CEN, Mol)
The availability of modern accelerators has become a key performance indicator. This is especially the case for accelerator-driven-systems (ADS), such as MYRRHA, which need to deliver beam with very few interruptions longer than a few seconds over a period of several months. [...]
