Development of the Directly-Sliced Niobium Material for High Performance SRF Cavities / Kumar, Ashish (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Araki, Hayato (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Dohmae, Takeshi (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Ito, Hayato (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Saeki, Takayuki (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Umemori, Kensei (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Yamamoto, Akira (KEK, Tsukuba ; CERN ; JAI, UK ; Oxford U.) ; Yamanaka, Masashi (KEK, Tsukuba)
For the purpose of cost reduction for the ILC, KEK has been conducting R&D; on direct sliced Nb materials such as large grain and medium grain Nb. Single-cell, 3-cell, and 9-cell cavities have been manufactured, and each has demonstrated a high-performance accelerating gradient exceeding 35 MV/m. [...]

Ingot Nb based SRF technology for the International Linear Collider / Yamamoto, Akira (KEK, Tsukuba ; CERN) ; Yamanaka, Masashi (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Myneni, Ganapati (Jefferson Lab)
The International Linear Collider (ILC) is anticipated to be built as the next energy-frontier electron-positron colliding accelerator with a global effort in particle physics.Niobium based Superconducting Radio-Frequency (SRF) technology is required to provide beam-accelerating structure with elliptical cavity strings to linearly accelerate the electron and positron beams up to 250 GeV and to realize a center-of-mass energy of 500 GeV in collisions. The accelerator design and R&D; efforts progressed, and the ILC Technical Design Report (ILC-TDR) was published in 2013. [...]

Comparison of High Gradient Performance in Varying Cavity Geometries / Higo, Toshiyasu (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Abe, Tetsuo (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Arakida, Yoshio (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Higashi, Yasuo (Okinawa Inst. Sci. Tech.) ; Matsumoto, Shuji (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Shidara, Tetsuo (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Takatomi, Toshikazu (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Yamanaka, Masashi (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Grudiev, Alexej (CERN) ; Riddone, Germana (CERN) et al.
Four types of CLIC prototype TW accelerator structures were high-gradient tested at Nextef, KEK, up to 100 MV/m level and the fifth is under test now. The ramping speed of each processing and the resultant breakdown rate were compared among them. [...]
