The Pixel Luminosity Telescope: A detector for luminosity measurement at CMS using silicon pixel sensors / CMS BRIL Collaboration
The Pixel Luminosity Telescope is a silicon pixel detector dedicated to luminosity measurement at the CMS experiment at the LHC. It is located approximately 1.75 m from the interaction point and arranged into 16 "telescopes", with eight telescopes installed around the beam pipe at either end of the detector and each telescope composed of three individual silicon sensor planes. Diamond Detector Technology: Status and Perspectives / RD42 Collaboration
The radiation tolerance of chemical vapor deposition (CVD) diamond against different particle species and energies has been studied in beam tests and is presented. We also present beam test results on signal size as a function of incident particle rate in charged particle detectors based on un-irradiated and irradiated poly-crystalline CVD diamond over a range of particle fluxes from 2 kHz/cm$^2$ to 20 MHz/cm$^2$. In sight of the luminosity increase of the High Luminosity-LHC (HL-LHC), most experiments at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) are planning upgrades for their innermost layers in the next 5–10 years. These upgrades will require more radiation tolerant technologies than exist today. [...]

Study of central exclusive $\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ production in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = $ 5.02 and 13 TeV / CMS Collaboration
Central exclusive production of $\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ pairs is measured with the CMS detector in proton-proton collisions at the LHC at center-of-mass energies of 5.02 and 13 TeV. The theoretical description of these nonperturbative processes, which have not yet been measured in detail at the LHC, poses a significant challenge to models. [...]

Measurement of single-diffractive dijet production in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} =$ 8 TeV with the CMS and TOTEM experiments / CMS and TOTEM Collaborations
Measurements are presented of the single-diffractive dijet cross section and the diffractive cross section as a function of the proton fractional momentum loss $\xi$ and the four-momentum transfer squared $t$. Both processes ${\mathrm{p}}{\mathrm{p}} \to {\mathrm{p}}\mathrm{X}$ and ${\mathrm{p}}{\mathrm{p}} \to \mathrm{X}{\mathrm{p}}$, ie with the proton scattering to either side of the interaction point, are measured, where $\mathrm{X}$ includes at least two jets; the results of the two processes are averaged [...]

Measurements of dose-rate effects in the radiation damage of plastic scintillator tiles using silicon photomultipliers / CMS Collaboration
Measurements are presented of the reduction of signal output due to radiation damage for plastic scintillator tiles used in the hadron endcap (HE) calorimeter of the CMS detector. The tiles were exposed to particles produced in proton-proton (pp) collisions at the CERN LHC with a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to a delivered luminosity of 50 fb$^{-1}$. [...]

Search for an excited lepton that decays via a contact interaction to a lepton and two jets in proton-proton collisions at ${\sqrt{s}} = $ 13 TeV / CMS Collaboration
Results are presented from a search for events containing an excited lepton (electron or muon) produced in association with an ordinary lepton of the same flavor and decaying to a lepton and two hadronic jets. Both the production and the decay of the excited leptons are assumed to occur via a contact interaction with a characteristic energy scale $\Lambda$. [...]

A search for a heavy Higgs boson in the mass range from 0.2 to 3.0 TeV, decaying to a pair of W bosons, is presented. The analysis is based on proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = $ 13 TeV recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC in 2016, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb$^{-1}$. [...]

Latest results on radiation tolerance of diamond detectors / RD42 Collaboration
At present most experiments at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) are planning upgrades in the next 5-10 years for their innermost tracking layers as well as luminosity monitors to be able to take data as the luminosity increases and CERN moves toward the High Luminosity-LHC (HL-LHC). These upgrades will most likely require more radiation tolerant technologies than exist today. [...]
