The Future Circular Collider (FCC) ‘integrated programme’ consists of an initial electron-positron collider FCC-ee, which is later followed by a proton-proton collider, FCC-hh, installed in the same 91 km circumference tunnel close to CERN. Over a span of 15 years, from the mid or late 2040s through the early 2060s, the FCC-ee shall operate at centre-of-mass energies between about 90 and 365 GeV, always delivering the highest possible luminosities to four experiments, in a sustainable and energy-efficient way. Gamma Factory at CERN: Design of a proof-of-principle experiment

The Gamma Factory (GF) initiative proposes to create novel research tools at CERN by producing, accelerating and storing highly relativistic partially stripped ion beams in the LHC rings and by exciting their atomic degrees of freedom by lasers, to produce high-energy photon beams. Their intensity would be several orders of magnitude higher than those of the presently operating light sources in the particularly interesting gamma-ray energy domain reaching up to 400 MeV. [...]
