Performance of the CMS electromagnetic calorimeter in pp collisions at s= 13 TeV / CMS Collaboration
The operation and performance of the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) electromagnetic calorimeter (ECAL) are presented, based on data collected in pp collisions at s= 13 TeV at the CERN LHC, in the years from 2015 to 2018 (LHC Run 2), corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 151 fb1. The CMS ECAL is a scintillating lead-tungstate crystal calorimeter, with a silicon strip preshower detector in the forward region that provides precise measurements of the energy and the time-of-arrival of electrons and photons. Autoencoder-based Anomaly Detection System for Online Data Quality Monitoring of the CMS Electromagnetic Calorimeter / CMS ECAL Collaboration
The CMS detector is a general-purpose apparatus that detects high-energy collisions produced at the LHC. Online Data Quality Monitoring of the CMS electromagnetic calorimeter is a vital operational tool that allows detector experts to quickly identify, localize, and diagnose a broad range of detector issues that could affect the quality of physics data. The high-luminosity phase of operation of the CERN Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) will pose new challenges to the detectors and their readout electronics. In particular, the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) barrel electromagnetic calorimeter will require a full redesign of the electronic readout chain in order to cope with the increase in luminosity and trigger rate. CMS ECAL upgrade for precision timing and energy measurements at the High-Luminosity LHC / Mazza, Giovanni (INFN, Turin) /CMS Collaboration
The High Luminosity upgrade of the LHC (HL-LHC) at CERN will provide unprecedented instantaneous luminosity of ∼5 × 1034 cm−2 s−1, leading to an average of 150–200 simultaneous collisions. This high instantaneous luminosity scenario presents a significant challenge for the detectors. [...]

A radiation tolerant 12 bits, 160 MS/s data conversion and transmission ASIC for the CMS electromagnetic calorimeter / Mazza, Gianni (speaker) (Universita e INFN Torino (IT))
The readout electronics for the CMS Electromagnetic Calorimeter is undergoing a re-design in order to cope with the LHC ugrade. In particular, a fourfold increase in the sampling frequency (from 40 to 160 MS/s) is required. Therefore a new readout ASIC has been developed. The ASIC, named LiTE-DTU, is designed in a CMOS 65 nm technology. [...]

First demonstration of in-beam performance of bent Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors / ALICE ITS project Collaboration
A novel approach for designing the next generation of vertex detectors foresees to employ wafer-scale sensors that can be bent to truly cylindrical geometries after thinning them to thicknesses of 20-40μm. To solidify this concept, the feasibility of operating bent MAPS was demonstrated using 1.5×3cm ALPIDE chips. [...]

RD53 analog front-end processors for the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the High-Luminosity LHC / RD53 Collaboration
This work discusses the design and the main results relevant to the characterization of analog front-end processors in view of their operation in the pixel detector readout chips of ATLAS and CMS at the High-Luminosity LHC. The front-end channels presented in this paper are part of RD53A, a large scale demonstrator designed in a 65 nm CMOS technology by the RD53 collaboration. The collaboration is now developing the full-sized readout chips for the actual experiments.
