Tau Neutrinos in the Next Decade: from GeV to EeV
/ Mammen Abraham, Roshan (Oklahoma State U.) ; Alvarez-Muñiz, Jaime (Santiago de Compostela U.) ; Argüelles, Carlos A. (Harvard U.) ; Ariga, Akitaka (Bern U. ; Chiba U.) ; Ariga, Tomoko (Kyushu U.) ; Aurisano, Adam (Cincinnati U.) ; Autiero, Dario (IP2I, Lyon) ; Bishai, Mary (Brookhaven Natl. Lab.) ; Bostan, Nilay (Notre Dame U.) ; Bustamante, Mauricio (Bohr Inst.) et al.
Tau neutrinos are the least studied particle in the Standard Model. This whitepaper discusses the current and expected upcoming status of tau neutrino physics with attention to the broad experimental and theoretical landscape spanning long-baseline, beam-dump, collider, and astrophysical experiments. A Next-Generation Liquid Xenon Observatory for Dark Matter and Neutrino Physics
/ Aalbers, J. (SLAC ; KIPAC, Menlo Park) ; AbdusSalam, S.S. (Shahid Beheshti U.) ; Abe, K. (Kamioka Observ. ; Tokyo U., IPMU) ; Aerne, V. (Zurich U.) ; Agostini, F. (U. Al (Oxford U.) et al.
The nature of dark matter and properties of neutrinos are among the most pressing issues in contemporary particle physics. The dual-phase xenon time-projection chamber is the leading technology to cover the available parameter space for Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs), while featuring extensive sensitivity to many alternative dark matter candidates. MicroBooNE and the $\nu_e$ Interpretation of the MiniBooNE Low-Energy Excess
/ Argüelles, C.A. (Harvard U.) ; Esteban, I. (Ohio State U., CCAPP ; Ohio State U.) ; Hostert, M. (Perimeter Inst. Theor. Phys. ; Minnesota U.) ; Kelly, Kevin J. (CERN) ; Kopp, J. (CERN ; Mainz U., Inst. Phys. ; U. Mainz, PRISMA) ; Machado, P.A.N. (Fermilab) ; Martinez-Soler, I. (Harvard U.) ; Perez-Gonzalez, Y.F. (Durham U., IPPP)
A new generation of neutrino experiments is testing the $4.8\sigma$ anomalous excess of electron-like events observed in MiniBooNE. This is of huge importance for particle physics, astrophysics, and cosmology, not only because of the potential discovery of physics beyond the Standard Model, but also because the lessons we will learn about neutrino-nucleus interactions will be crucial for the worldwide neutrino program. The reactor neutrino anomaly: status and recent developments
/ Dentler, M (Mainz U.) ; Alvaro Hernandez-Cabezudo, A (KIT, Karlsruhe) ; Kopp, J (Mainz U. ; CERN) ; Machado, P (Fermilab) ; Maltoni, M (Madrid, IFT) ; Martinez-Soler, I (Madrid, IFT) ; Schwetz, T (KIT, Karlsruhe)
The observed antineutrino flux from nuclear reactors is consistently lower thanpredicted. This anomaly could hint at oscillations of active neutrinos into anew sterile neutrino species, or it could simply be a reflection ofunderestimated systematic uncertainties in the theoretical flux prediction. Updated global analysis of neutrino oscillations in the presence of eV-scale sterile neutrinos

We discuss the possibility to explain the anomalies in short-baseline neutrino oscillation experiments in terms of sterile neutrinos. We work in a 3+1 framework and pay special attention to recent new data from reactor experiments, IceCube and MINOS+. [...]

Decoherence in neutrino propagation through matter, and bounds from IceCube/DeepCore
/ Coloma, Pilar (Fermilab) ; Lopez-Pavon, Jacobo (CERN) ; Martinez-Soler, Ivan (Madrid, IFT) ; Nunokawa, Hiroshi (Rio de Janeiro, Pont. U. Catol.)
We revisit neutrino oscillations in matter considering the open quantum system framework which allows to introduce possible decoherence effects generated by New Physics in a phenomenological manner. We assume that the decoherence parameters $\gamma_{ij}$ may depend on the neutrino energy, as $\gamma_{ij}=\gamma_{ij}^{0}(E/\text{GeV})^n$ $(n = 0,\pm1,\pm2) $. [...]
