With a circumference of approximately 91 km, the Future Circular electron-positron Collider, FCC-ee, aims for unprecedented luminosities at beam energies from 45.6 to 182.5 GeV. A major challenge is reaching its design performance in the presence of magnet misalignments and field errors. [...]

Selected advances in the accelerator design of the Future Circular Electron-Positron Collider (FCC-ee)
/ FCC Collaboration
In autumn 2023, the FCC Feasibility Study underwent a crucial “mid-term review”. We describe some accelerator performance risks for the proposed future circular electron-positron collider, FCC-ee, identified for, and during, the mid-term review. [...]

FCC-ee is a proposed lepton collider with a circumference close to 100 km to produce an unprecedented amount of luminosity. The FCC-ee optics tuning working group is addressing one of the most critical aspects of the FCC-ee, that is the recovery of the optics design performance in presence of realistic imperfections. Bayesian Optimization Algorithms for Accelerator Physics
/ Roussel, Ryan (SLAC) ; Edelen, Auralee L. (SLAC) ; Boltz, Tobias (SLAC) ; Kennedy, Dylan (SLAC) ; Zhang, Zhe (SLAC) ; Ji, Fuhao (SLAC) ; Huang, Xiaobiao (SLAC) ; Ratner, Daniel (SLAC) ; Garcia, Andrea Santamaria (KIT, Karlsruhe) ; Xu, Chenran (KIT, Karlsruhe) et al.
Accelerator physics relies on numerical algorithms to solve optimization problems in online accelerator control and tasks such as experimental design and model calibration in simulations. The effectiveness of optimization algorithms in discovering ideal solutions for complex challenges with limited resources often determines the problem complexity these methods can address. [...]

Application of Independent Component Analysis for Beam Diagnosis
/ Huang, Xiaobiao ; Lee, Shyh-Yuan ; Prebys, Eric ; Tomlin, Raymond E
The independent component analysis (ICA)* is applied to analyze simultaneous multiple turn-by-turn beam position monitor (BPM) data of synchrotrons. The sampled data are decomposed to physically independent source signals, such as betatron motion, synchrotron motion and other perturbation sources. [...]

Fitting the Fully Coupled ORM for the Fermilab Booster
/ Huang, Xiaobiao ; Ankenbrandt, Charles ; Lee, Shyh-Yuan ; Prebys, Eric
The orbit response matrix (ORM) method* is applied to model the Fermilab Booster with parameters such as the BPM gains and rolls, and parameters in the lattice model, including the gradient errors and magnets rolls. We found that the gradients and rolls of the adjacent combined-function magnets were deeply correlated, preventing full determination of the model parameters. [...]
