/ Gottardo, A (INFN, Legnaro ; Padua U.) ; Valiente-Dobón, J J (INFN, Legnaro) ; Benzoni, G (INFN, Milan) ; Morales, A I (INFN, Milan) ; Gadea, A (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Lunardi, S (Padua U. ; INFN, Padua) ; Boutachkov, P (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Bruce, A M (Brighton U.) ; Górska, M (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Grebosz, J (Cracow, INP) et al.
The neutron-rich isotopes $^{211,213}\mathrm{Tl}$, beyond the $N=126$ shell closure, have been studied for the first time in isomer $\gamma$-ray decay, exploiting the fragmentation of a primary uranium beam at the Fragment Separator-Rare Isotopes Investigation at GSI setup. The observed isomeric states in $^{211,213}\mathrm{Tl}$ show a deviation from the seniority-like scheme of $^{209}\mathrm{Tl}$. [...]

The delivery of clinical beams for patient treatment at the MedAustron Ion Therapy Center requires extensive accelerator performance verifications, which are performed in several steps. In first instance, the key parameters of the beam delivered to the irradiation rooms (beam position, spot size, energy and intensity) are verified via measurements performed with beam diagnostic devices distributed along the accelerator. [...]

The synchrotron-based MedAustron accelerator in Wiener Neustadt, Austria, has seen the first clinical beam and has been certified as a medical accelerator in December 2016. This represented a major milestone for the facility whose original design originated more than a decade ago and construction started four years ago. [...]

/ Caballero-Folch, R. (Barcelona, Polytechnic U. ; TRIUMF) ; Domingo-Pardo, C. (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Agramunt, J. (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Algora, A. (Valencia U., IFIC ; Debrecen, Inst. Nucl. (Barcelona, Polytechnic U.) ; Cano-Ott, D. (Madrid, CIEMAT) et al.
$Background:$ Previous measurements of $\beta$-delayed neutron emitters comprise around 230 nuclei, spanning from the $^{8}$He up to $^{150}$La. Apart from $^{210}$Tl, with a minuscule branching ratio of 0.007\%, no other neutron emitter is measured yet beyond $A=150$. [...]

New measurements of very exotic nuclei in the neutron-rich region beyond N=126 have been performed at the GSI facility with the fragment separator (FRS). The aim of the experiment is to determine half-lives and beta-delayed neutron emission branching ratios of isotopes of Hg, Tl and Pb in this region. [...]

The $\beta$-delayed neutron emission probabilities of neutron rich Hg and Tl nuclei have been measured together with $\beta$-decay half-lives for 20 isotopes of Au, Hg, Tl, Pb and Bi in the mass region N$\gtrsim$126. These are the heaviest species where neutron emission has been observed so far. [...]

The rapid neutron nucleosynthesis process involves an enormous amount of very exotic neutron-rich nuclei, which represent a theoretical and experimental challenge. Two of the main decay properties that affect the final abundance distribution the most are half-lives and neutron branching ratios. [...]
