A New Electron Cooler for the CERN Antiproton Decelerator (AD)
/ Tranquille, G (CERN) ; Cenede, J (CERN) ; Frassier, A (CERN) ; Chritin, N S (CERN) ; Coutron, Y M (CERN) ; Sinturel, A (CERN) ; Ferreira, J A (CERN) ; von Freeden, L (CERN) ; Bajas, H (CERN) ; Jorgensen, L V (CERN)
The current electron cooler at the Antiproton Decelerator (AD) at CERN was built in the second half of the 1970s and is thus well over 40 years old. It was built for the Initial Cooling Experiment (ICE) where stochastic and electron cooling were tested to ascertain the feasibility of using these techniques to generate high intensity antiproton beams for the SPpS. Antihydrogen annihilation reconstruction with the ALPHA silicon detector
/ Andresen, G B (Aarhus U.) ; Ashkezari, M D (Simon Fraser U.) ; Bertsche, W (Swansea U.) ; Bowe, P D (Aarhus U.) ; Butler, E (CERN) ; Cesar, C L (Rio de Janeiro Federal U.) ; Chapman, S (UC, Berkeley) ; Charlton, M (Swansea U.) ; Deller, A (Swansea U.) ; Eriksson, S (Swansea U.) et al.
The ALPHA experiment has succeeded in trapping antihydrogen, a major milestone on the road to spectroscopic comparisons of antihydrogen with hydrogen. An annihilation vertex detector, which determines the time and position of antiproton annihilations, has been central to this achievement. [...]

Exploring the WEP with a pulsed cold beam of antihydrogen
/ AEGIS Collaboration
The AEGIS experiment, currently being set up at the Antiproton Decelerator at CERN, has the objective of studying the free fall of antimatter in the Earths gravitational field by means of a pulsed cold atomic beam of antihydrogen atoms. Both duration of free fall and vertical displacement of the horizontally emitted atoms will be measured, allowing a first test of the WEP with antimatter..

We describe an experiment performed in the ATHENA apparatus in which there is evidence that the antiproton-proton bound state, protonium, has been produced at very low energies in vacuum following the interaction of cold antiprotons with a trapped cloud of molecular hydrogen ions. The latter were confined in a centrifugally separated belt outside a positron plasma used for antihydrogen formation. [...]

Antihydrogen physics: gravitation and spectroscopy in AEgIS
/ Ferragut, R (Milan Polytechnic ; INFN, Milan) ; Vaccarone, R (Genoa U. ; INFN, Genoa) ; Stroke, H H (New York U.) ; Dassa, L (Pavia U. ; INFN, Pavia) ; Rohne, O (Oslo U.) ; Hogan, S D (Zurich, ETH) ; Cialdi, S (Milan U. ; INFN, Milan) ; Al-Qaradawi, I Y (Qatar U.) ; Formaro, L (Milan U. ; INFN, Milan) ; Sandaker, H (Bergen U.) et al.
AEgIS (Antimatter experiment: gravity, interferometry, spectroscopy) is an experiment approved by CERN with the goal of studying antihydrogen physics. In AEgIS, antihydrogen will be produced by charge exchange reactions of cold antiprotons with positronium atoms excited in a Rydberg state (n > 20). [...]
