The Present and Future of Flavor / Bordone, Marzia (speaker) (University of Zürich and CERN)
Flavour physics provides some of the most stringent tests of the Standard Model and a powerful indirect probe of new physics. Precision studies of quark transitions have revealed a striking pattern of masses, mixings, and CP violation that remains unexplained by current theory, while persistent tensions in key observables continue to attract attention [...]

Challenging $\bar{B}_{(s)}\to D_{(s)}^{(*)}$ Form Factors with the Heavy Quark Expansion / Bordone, Marzia (Siegen U. ; CERN ; Zurich U.) ; Gubernari, Nico (Cambridge U., DAMTP) ; Jung, Martin (Turin U. ; INFN, Turin) ; van Dyk, Danny (Durham U., IPPP)
Recent publications by three lattice QCD collaborations have provided an unprecedented wealth of theoretical predictions for the $\bar{B}_q \to D_q^{(*)}$ form factors, for spectator flavours $q=u/d$ and $q=s$. [...]

Precision Tests in $b\to s\ell^+\ell^-$ ($\ell=e,\mu$) at FCC-ee / Bordone, Marzia (Zurich U. ; CERN) ; Cornella, Claudia (CERN) ; Davighi, Joe (CERN)
The rare semi-leptonic decays $B\to K^\ast \ell^+\ell^-$, with $\ell=e, \mu$, are highly sensitive to new physics (NP) due to their suppression in the Standard Model (SM). Current LHCb measurements in the muon channel exhibit a significant tension with state-of-the-art SM theory predictions. [...]

Probing third-generation New Physics with $K\to \pi \nu\bar\nu$ and $B\to K^{(*)} \nu\bar\nu$ / Allwicher, Lukas (Zurich U.) ; Bordone, Marzia (CERN) ; Isidori, Gino (Zurich U.) ; Piazza, Gioacchino (Zurich U.) ; Stanzione, Alfredo (INFN, Trieste ; SISSA, Trieste)
The recent observation of the $K^+ \to \pi^+ \nu\bar\nu$ decay by NA62 is an important milestone in precision flavor physics. Together with evidence of $B^+ \to K^+\nu\bar\nu$ reported by Belle-II, they are the only FCNC decays involving third-family leptons where a precision close to the SM expectation has been reached. New strategies for probing $B\rightarrow D^*\ell \bar{\nu }_\ell $ lattice and experimental data / Bordone, Marzia (CERN) ; Juttner, Andreas (U. Southampton (main) ; CERN)
We present an analysis of the exclusive semileptonic decay $B\to D^\ast \ell\bar\nu_\ell$ based on the Belle and Belle II data made public in 2023, combined with recent lattice-QCD calculations of the hadronic transition form factors by FNAL/MILC, HPQCD and JLQCD. We also consider a new combination of the Belle and Belle II data sets by HFLAV. [...]

We analyze data on $B\to K\mu^+\mu^-$ and $B\to K^*\mu^+\mu^-$ decays in the whole dilepton invariant mass spectrum with the aim of disentangling short- vs. long-distance contributions. [...]

In order to stimulate new engagement and trigger some concrete studies in areas where further work would be beneficial towards fully understanding the physics potential of an $e^+e^-$ Higgs / Top / Electroweak factory, we propose to define a set of focus topics. [...]

QED effects in inclusive semi-leptonic $B$ decays / Bigi, Dante (CERN ; Turin U. ; Munich, Max Planck Inst. ; Munich, Tech. U.) ; Bordone, Marzia (CERN) ; Gambino, Paolo (Turin U. ; Munich, Max Planck Inst. ; Munich, Tech. U.) ; Haisch, Ulrich (Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Piccione, Andrea (Turin U.)
We analyse in detail the QED corrections to the total decay width and the moments of the electron energy spectrum of the inclusive semi-leptonic $B \to X_c e \nu$ decay. Our calculation includes short-distance electroweak corrections, the complete ${\cal O}(\alpha)$ partonic terms and leading-logarithmic QED effects up to ${\cal O}(\Lambda^3_{\rm QCD}/m_b^3)$. [...]
