Measurement of the mass difference between top quark and antiquark in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 8$ TeV / CMS Collaboration
The invariance of the standard model (SM) under the CPT transformation predicts equality of particle and antiparticle masses. This prediction is tested by measuring the mass difference between the top quark and antiquark (Delta m[t] = m[t] - m[t-bar]) that are produced in pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV, using events with a muon or an electron and at least four jets in the final state. Boosting Event Building Performance using Infiniband FDR for CMS Upgrade / Bawej, Tomasz Adrian (CERN) ; Behrens, Ulf (DESY) ; Branson, James (UC, San Diego) ; Chaze, Olivier (CERN) ; Cittolin, Sergio (UC, San Diego) ; Darlea, Georgiana Lavinia (MIT) ; Deldicque, Christian (CERN) ; Dobson, Marc (CERN) ; Dupont, Aymeric (CERN) ; Erhan, Samim (UCLA) et al.
As part of the CMS upgrade during CERN long shutdown period (LS1), the CMS data acquisition system is incorporating Infiniband FDR technology to boost event building performance for operation from 2015 onwards. Infiniband promises to provide substantial increase in data transmission speeds compared to the older 1GE network used during the 2009-2013 LHC run. [...]

Achieving High Performance with TCP over 40GbE on NUMA architectures for CMS Data Acquisition / Bawej, Tomasz Adrian (CERN) ; Behrens, Ulf (DESY) ; Branson, James (UC, San Diego) ; Chaze, Olivier (CERN) ; Cittolin, Sergio (UC, San Diego) ; Darlea, Georgiana Lavinia (MIT) ; Deldicque, Christian (CERN) ; Dobson, Marc (CERN) ; Dupont, Aymeric (CERN) ; Erhan, Samim (UCLA) et al.
TCP and the socket abstraction have barely changed over the last two decades, but at the network layer there has been a giant leap from a few megabits to 100 gigabits in bandwidth. At the same time, CPU architectures have evolved into the multicore era and applications are expected to make full use of all available resources. [...]

The data acquisition system (DAQ) of the CMS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider assembles events at a rate of 100 kHz, transporting event data at an aggregate throughput of 100 GB/s to the high level trigger (HLT) farm. The HLT farm selects interesting events for storage and offline analysis at a rate of around 1 kHz. [...]

Measurement of jet fragmentation in PbPb and pp collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV / CMS Collaboration
The jet fragmentation function of inclusive jets with transverse momentum $p_T$ above 100 GeV/c in PbPb collisions has been measured using reconstructed charged particles with $p_T$ above 1 GeV/c in a cone of radius 0.3 around the jet axis. A data sample of PbPb collisions collected in 2011 at a nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 150 inverse-microbarns is used. Measurement of the ratio of inclusive jet cross sections using the anti-$k_T$ algorithm with radius parameters R=0.5 and 0.7 in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV / CMS Collaboration
Measurements of the inclusive jet cross section with the anti-$k_t$ clustering algorithm are presented for two radius parameters, R=0.5 and 0.7. They are based on data from LHC proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.0 inverse-femtobarns collected with the CMS detector in 2011. [...]

Description and performance of track and primary-vertex reconstruction with the CMS tracker / CMS Collaboration
A description is provided of the software algorithms developed for the CMS tracker both for reconstructing charged-particle trajectories in proton-proton interactions and for using the resulting tracks to estimate the positions of the LHC luminous region and individual primary-interaction vertices. Despite the very hostile environment at the LHC, the performance obtained with these algorithms is found to be excellent. [...]

Search for supersymmetry with razor variables in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV / CMS Collaboration
The razor approach to search for R-parity conserving supersymmetric particles is described in detail. Two studies are considered: an inclusive search for new heavy particle pairs decaying to final states with at least two jets and missing transverse energy, and a dedicated search for final states with at least one jet originating from b quarks.
