Search for a Dark-Matter-Induced Cosmic Axion Background with ADMX / ADMX Collaboration
We report the first result of a direct search for a Cosmic ${\it axion}$ Background (C$a$B) - a relativistic background of axions that is not dark matter - performed with the axion haloscope, the Axion Dark Matter eXperiment (ADMX). Conventional haloscope analyses search for a signal with a narrow bandwidth, as predicted for dark matter, whereas the C$a$B will be broad. [...]

Challenges and Opportunities of Gravitational Wave Searches at MHz to GHz Frequencies / Aggarwal, Nancy (Northwestern U.) ; Aguiar, Odylio D. (Sao Jose, INPE) ; Bauswein, Andreas (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Cella, Giancarlo (INFN, Pisa) ; Clesse, Sebastian (Brussels U.) ; Cruise, Adrian Michael (Birmingham U.) ; Domcke, Valerie (Geneva U., Dept. The first direct measurement of gravitational waves by the LIGO and Virgo collaborations has opened up new avenues to explore our Universe. This white paper outlines the challenges and gains expected in gravitational wave searches at frequencies above the LIGO/Virgo band, with a particular focus on Ultra High-Frequency Gravitational Waves (UHF-GWs), covering the MHz to GHz range.
