Integration of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center for CMS computing: Towards large scale production / Acosta-Silva, C (PIC, Bellaterra ; Barcelona, IFAE) ; Peris, A Delgado (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Molina, J Flix (PIC, Bellaterra ; Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Hernández, J M (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Yzquierdo, A Pérez-Calero (PIC, Bellaterra ; Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Sánchez, E Pineda (Barcelona, Autonoma U.) ; Domínguez, I Villalonga (Barcelona, Autonoma U.) /CMS Collaboration
The CMS experiment is working to integrate an increasing number of High Performance Computing (HPC) resources into its distributed computing infrastructure. The case of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) is particularly challenging as severe network restrictions prevent the use of CMS standard computing solutions. [...]

Performance of new CO$_2$ based mixture in CMS Improved Resistive Plate Chambers in HL-LHC environment / Pinheiro, João Pedro Gomes (Rio de Janeiro Federal U.) ; Shah, Mehar Ali (Iberoamericana U.) ; Sánchez, Lucía Eiriz (Dundee U.) /CMS Muon Collaboration
Resistive Plate Chamber (RPCs) detectors in the Compact Muon Solenoid operate with a gas mixture composed of 95.2% of C2H2F4, which provides a high number of ion-electron pairs, 4.5% of iC4H10, which ensures the suppression of photon-feedback effects, and 0.3% of SF6, used as an electron quencher to further operate the detector in streamer-free mode. C2H2F4 is known to be a Greenhouse gas with a global warming potential (GWP) of 1430. [...]

Tests of General Relativity with GWTC-3 / LIGO Scientific Collaboration
The ever-increasing number of detections of gravitational waves (GWs) from compact binaries by the Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo detectors allows us to perform ever-more sensitive tests of general relativity (GR) in the dynamical and strong-field regime of gravity. [...]

Search for Subsolar-Mass Binaries in the First Half of Advanced LIGO’s and Advanced Virgo’s Third Observing Run / LIGO Scientific Collaboration
We report on a search for compact binary coalescences where at least one binary component has a mass between 0.2 $M_\odot$ and 1.0 $M_\odot$ in Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo data collected between 1 April 2019 1500 UTC and 1 October 2019 1500 UTC. We extend previous analyses in two main ways: we include data from the Virgo detector and we allow for more unequal mass systems, with mass ratio $q \geq 0.1$. [...]

SPS Personnel Protection System: From Design to Commissioning / Ladzinski, Tomasz (CERN) ; Hakulinen, Timo (CERN) ; Havart, Frederic (CERN) ; Martins De Sousa Dos Rios, Vitor (CERN) ; Munoz Codoceo, Miriam (CERN) ; Ninin, Pierre (CERN) ; Ridewood, James (CERN) ; Sanchez-Corral Mena, Eva (CERN) ; Vaxelaire, Didier (CERN)
During the second long shutdown (LS2) of the accelerator complex at CERN, the access system of the Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS) was completely renovated. This complex project was motivated by the technical obsolescence and lack of sufficient redundancy in the existing system, as well as by the need for homogenisation of technologies and practices across the different machines at CERN.
