Coulomb excitation of Zn74,76 / ISOLDE Collaboration
The first experiment using radioactive beams post-accelerated by the HIE-ISOLDE facility has enabled to obtain a precise set of B(E2) transition probabilities in neutron-rich Zn74,76 isotopes. The resulting B(E2; 21+→01+) values are consistent with those determined in earlier REX-ISOLDE measurements. [...]

Quadrupole deformation of $^{130}$Xe measured in a Coulomb-excitation experiment / Morrison, L (Surrey U.) ; Hadyńska-Klȩk, K (Warsaw U., Heavy Ion Lab ; Surrey U.) ; Podolyák, Zs (Surrey U.) ; Doherty, D T (Surrey U.) ; Gaffney, L P (Liverpool U. ; CERN) ; Kaya, L (Cologne U.) ; Próchniak, L (Warsaw U., Heavy Ion Lab) ; Samorajczyk-Pyśk, J (Warsaw U., Heavy Ion Lab) ; Srebrny, J (Warsaw U., Heavy Ion Lab) ; Berry, T (Surrey U.) et al.
Low-lying states in the isotope $^{130}$Xe were populated in a Coulomb-excitation experiment performed at CERN's HIE-ISOLDE facility. The magnitudes and relative signs of seven $E2$ matrix elements and one $M1$ matrix element coupling five low-lying states in $^{130}$Xe were determined using the semiclassical coupled-channel Coulomb-excitation least-squares search code gosia. Testing ab initio nuclear structure in neutron-rich nuclei: lifetime measurements of second 2$^+$ states in $^{16}$C and $^{20}$O / Ciemala, M. (Cracow, INP) ; Ziliani, S. (INFN, Milan) ; Bracco, A. (Milan U. ; INFN, Milan) ; Boiano, C. (INFN, Milan) et al.
To test the predictive power of ab initio nuclear structure theory, the lifetime of the second 2+ state in neutron-rich 20O, tau(2+_2 ) = 150(+80-30) fs, and an estimate for the lifetime of the second 2+ state in 16C have been obtained, for the first time. The results were achieved via a novel Monte Carlo technique that allowed us to measure nuclear state lifetimes in the tens-to-hundreds femtoseconds range, by analyzing the Doppler-shifted gamma-transition line shapes of products of low-energy transfer and deep-inelastic processes in the reaction 18O (7.0 MeV/u) + 181Ta. Shape dynamics in neutron-rich Kr isotopes: Coulomb excitation of $^{92}Kr$, $^{94}Kr$ and $^{96}Kr$ / Albers, M (Cologne U.) ; Nomura, K (Cologne U.) ; Warr, N (Cologne U.) ; Blazhev, A (Cologne U.) ; Jolie, J (Cologne U.) ; Mücher, D (Munich, Tech. We report on the study of excited states in $^{92,94,96}Kr$ populated via projectile Coulomb excitation at safe energies. The radioactive ion beams at energies of 2.85 MeV/u were delivered by the REX-ISOLDE facility at CERN and impinged on self-supporting $^{194,196}Pt$ targets. [...]

Electromagnetic properties of low-lying states in neutron-deficient Hg isotopes: Coulomb excitation of $^{182}$Hg, $^{184}$Hg, $^{186}$Hg and $^{188}$Hg / Wrzosek-Lipska, K (Warsaw U., Heavy Ion Lab ; Leuven U.) ; Rezynkina, K (Leuven U. ; U. The neutron-deficient mercury isotopes serve as a classical example of shape coexistence, whereby at low energy near-degenerate nuclear states characterized by different shapes appear. The electromagnetic structure of even-mass $^{182-188}$ Hg isotopes was studied using safe-energy Coulomb excitation of neutron-deficient mercury beams delivered by the REX-ISOLDE facility at CERN. Coulomb Excitation of $^{142}$Xe / Henrich, C (Darmstadt, Tech. U.) ; Kröll, Th (Darmstadt, Tech. U.) ; Arnswald, K (Cologne U.) ; Berger, C (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Berner, C (Munich, Tech. The even–even nucleus $^{142}$Xe lies north-east of the doubly magic $^{132}$Sn on the neutron-rich side of the nuclear chart. In order to gain further information on the octupole collectivity and the evolution of quadrupole collectivity in this region, a “safe” Coulomb excitation experiment was carried out at the new HIE-ISOLDE facility (CERN) at the end of 2016.
