Nb$_3$Sn RRP Strand and Rutherford Cable Development for a 15 T Dipole Demonstrator / Barzi, E. (Fermilab) ; Andreev, N. (Fermilab) ; Li, P. (Fermilab) ; Lombardo, V. (Fermilab) ; Turrioni, D. (Fermilab) ; Zlobin, A. V. (Fermilab)
Keystoned Rutherford cables made of 28 strands and with a stainless steel core were developed and manufactured using 1-mm Nb$_3$Sn composite wires produced by Oxford Superconducting Technology with 127 and 169 restacks using the Restacked-Rod-Process. The performance and properties of these cables were studied to evaluate possible candidates for 15-T accelerator magnets..

Development and Fabrication of Nb$_3$Sn Rutherford Cable for the 11 T DS Dipole Demonstration Model / Barzi, E (Fermilab) ; Lombardo, V (Fermilab) ; Nobrega, F (Fermilab) ; Turrioni, D (Fermilab) ; Yamada, R (Fermilab) ; Zlobin, A V (Fermilab) ; Karppinen, M (CERN)
Fermilab and CERN started the development of 11 T Nb$_3$Sn dipoles 11 m long to replace a few regular LHC NbTi dipoles and free space for cold collimators in LHC dispersion suppression (DS) areas. An important step in the design of these magnets is the development of the high aspect ratio Nb$_3$Sn cable to achieve the nominal field of 11 T at the nominal LHC operating current of 11.85 kA with 20% margin. Lessons learned from the prototypes of the MQXFA Low Beta Quadrupoles for HL-LHC and status of production in the US / Ambrosio, Giorgio (Fermilab) ; Amm, Kathleen (BNL, NSLS) ; Anerella, Michael (BNL, NSLS) ; Apollinari, Giorgio (Fermilab) ; Baldini, Maria (Fermilab) ; Blowers, Jamie (Fermilab) ; Bossert, Rodger (Fermilab) ; Carcagno, Ruben (Fermilab) ; Cheng, Daniel W (BNL, NSLS) ; Chlachidze, Guram (Fermilab) et al.
With the successful test of the first two pre-series magnets the US HL-LHC Accelerator Upgrade Project has started production of the MQXFA magnets to be used in Q1/Q3 inner triplet elements of the HL-LHC. This good start comes after the test of two prototypes with limited performance, and it demonstrates the importance of learning from past issues. [...]

The High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) is the new flagship project of CERN. First endorsed in 2013 and approved in 2016, HL-LHC is an upgrade of the accelerator aiming to increase by a factor of ten the statistics of the LHC collisions at the horizon of 2035–2040. [...]

Measurement of the centrality dependence of the charged-particle pseudorapidity distribution in proton--lead collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_\text{NN}}} = 5.02$ TeV with the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
The centrality dependence of the mean charged-particle multiplicity as a function of pseudorapidity is measured in approximately 1 $\mu$b$^{-1}$ of proton--lead collisions at a nucleon--nucleon centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s_{_\text{NN}}} = 5.02$ TeV using the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Charged particles with absolute pseudorapidity less than 2.7 are reconstructed using the ATLAS pixel detector. [...]

Centrality, rapidity and transverse momentum dependence of isolated prompt photon production in lead-lead collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}} = 2.76$ TeV measured with the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
Prompt photon production in $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}} = 2.76$ TeV Pb+Pb collisions has been measured by the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider using data collected in 2011 with an integrated luminosity of 0.14 nb$^{-1}$. Inclusive photon yields, scaled by the mean nuclear thickness function, are presented as a function of collision centrality and transverse momentum in two pseudo rapidity intervals, $|\eta| < 1.37$ and $1.52 < |\eta| < 2.37$.
