Towards fully 3-D simulations of heavy-ion collisions in the IP-Glasma Initial State / Jeon, Sangyong (speaker) (McGill University)
In this talk, we report on phenomenological studies using the recently developed 3-D IP-Glasma initial state. Our 3-D formulation generalizes the boost invariant formulation by including both the rapidity evolution (JIMWLK) and the temporal evolution (Classical Yang-Mills) in the longitudinal direction. Comparison of Jet Quenching Formalisms for a Quark-Gluon Plasma "Brick" / Armesto, Nestor (Santiago de Compostela U., IGFAE) ; Cole, Brian (Columbia U.) ; Gale, Charles (McGill U.) ; Horowitz, William A. (Ohio State U. ; Cape Town U.) ; Jacobs, Peter (LBL, Berkeley) ; Jeon, Sangyong (McGill U.) ; van Leeuwen, Marco (Utrecht U.) ; Majumder, Abhijit (Ohio State U.) ; Muller, Berndt (Duke U.) ; Qin, Guang-You (Duke U.) et al.
We review the currently available formalisms for radiative energy loss of a high-momentum parton in a dense strongly interacting medium. The underlying theoretical framework of the four commonly used formalisms is discussed and the differences and commonalities between the formalisms are highlighted. [...]

How particles emerge from decaying classical fields in heavy in collisions: towards a kinetic description of the Glasma / Gelis, Francois (CERN) ; Jeon, Sangyong (McGill U.) ; Venugopalan, Raju (Brookhaven)
We develop the formalism discussed previously in hep-ph/0601209 and hep-ph/0605246 to construct a kinetic theory that provides insight into the earliest "Glasma" stage of a high energy heavy ion collision. Particles produced from the decay of classical fields in the Glasma obey a Boltzmann equation whose novel features include an inhomogeneous source term and new contributions to the collision term. Particle yield fluctuations and chemical nonequilibrium in Au-Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_NN}$ = 200 GeV / Torrieri, Giorgio (McGill U.) ; Jeon, Sangyong (McGill U. ; RIKEN BNL) ; Rafelski, Johann (Arizona U. ; CERN)
We study charge fluctuations within the statistical hadronization model. Considering both the particle yield ratios and the charge fluctuations we show that it is possible to differentiate between chemical equilibrium and non-equilibrium freeze-out conditions. [...]

Dynamical Evolution of the Scalar Condensate in Heavy Ion Collisions / Csernai, Laszlo P. (Bergen U. ; Budapest, RMKI ; Minnesota U.) ; Ellis, Paul J. (Minnesota U.) ; Jeon, Sangyong (LBL, Berkeley) ; Kapusta, Joseph I. (Minnesota U. ; CERN)
We derive the effective coarse-grained field equation for the scalar condensate of the linear sigma model in a simple and straightforward manner using linear response theory. The dissipative coefficient is calculated at tree level on the basis of the physical processes of sigma-meson decay and of thermal sigma-mesons and pions knocking sigma-mesons out of the condensate.
