The main features of the low-momentum separated antiproton beam built at the CERN Proton Synchrotron to allow the stopping of a large number of antiprotons are described. An effective stopping rate of 1000 antiproton per 10/sup 12/ protons on the Ps internal target is obtained. [...]

From the measurement of Be/sup +/e/sup -/= Gamma (pp to e/sup +/e/sup -/)/ Gamma (pp to total)=(3.2+or-0.9)*10/sup -7/, obtained in an experiment at CERN with antiprotons at rest, a value of the proton electromagnetic form factors at the threshold of the time-like region is derived: mod G/sub E/ mod = mod G/sub M/ mod =0.51+or-0.08 at q/sup 2/=-3.52 (GeV/c)/sup 2/. Data on the process pp to pi /sup +/ pi /sup -/ or K/sup +/K/sup -/, with antiprotons stopped in a liquid-hydrogen target, were taken in a counter experiment at the CERN Proton Synchrotron. A fraction of these annihilations occurred during the slowing down of the antiprotons in the target at an average momentum of 300 MeV/c. [...]

Analyzing a sample of 220000 events from an experiment still in progress at the CERN Proton Synchrotron, 60 pairs of electrons with an energy above 700 MeV have been observed. The electrons, produced by annihilation of antiproton stopped in a liquid-hydrogen target, are detected with optical spark chambers and scintillation counters. [...]
