The Phase I upgrade of the CMS Hadron Endcap Calorimeters consists of new photodetectors (Silicon Photomultipliers in place of Hybrid Photo-Diodes) and front-end electronics. The upgrade will eliminate the noise and the calibration drift of the Hybrid Photo-Diodes and enable the mitigation of the radiation damage of the scintillators and the wavelength shifting fibers with a larger spectral acceptance of the Silicon Photomultipliers. Measurement of associated Z + charm production in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = $ 8 TeV / CMS Collaboration
A study of the associated production of a Z boson and a charm quark jet (Z + c), and a comparison to production with a b quark jet (Z + b), in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV are presented. The analysis uses a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb$^{-1}$, collected with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC. [...]

Pseudorapidity and transverse momentum dependence of flow harmonics in pPb and PbPb collisionsDifferential flow harmonics v_n in pPb and PbPb collisions / CMS Collaboration
Measurements of azimuthal angular correlations are presented for high-multiplicity pPb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}} = $ 5.02 TeV and peripheral PbPb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}} = $ 2.76 TeV. The data used in this work were collected with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC. [...]

Study of dijet events with a large rapidity gap between the two leading jets in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV / CMS Collaboration
Events with no charged particles produced between the two leading jets are studied in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV. The jets were required to have transverse momentum $p_\mathrm{T}^{\text{jet}}$ > 40 GeV and pseudorapidity 1.5 $<|\eta^{\text{jet}}| <$ 4.7, and to have values of $\eta^{\text{jet}}$ with opposite signs. Very forward energy distributions and jet production observed with CASTOR in CMS / Van Spilbeeck, Alex (Antwerp U.)
The CASTOR calorimeter at the CMS experiment at LHC provides very forward (-6 : 6 < h <-5.2) energy measurements. Jets in this regime can be used as very sensitive probes of the low- x parton dynamics in the proton. [...]

Brightness and uniformity measurements of plastic scintillator tiles at the CERN H2 test beam / CMS-HCAL Collaboration
We study the light output, light collection efficiency and signal timing of a variety of organic scintillators that are being considered for the upgrade of the hadronic calorimeter of the CMS detector. The experimental data are collected at the H2 test-beam area at CERN, using a 150 GeV muon beam. [...]

Search for supersymmetry with Higgs boson to diphoton decays using the razor variables at $\sqrt{s} = $ 13 TeV / CMS Collaboration
An inclusive search for anomalous Higgs boson production in the diphoton decay channel and in association with at least one jet is presented, using LHC proton-proton collision data collected by the CMS experiment at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb$^{-1}$. The razor variables $M_\mathrm{R}$ and $\mathrm{R}^2$, as well as the momentum and mass resolution of the diphoton system, are used to categorize events into different search regions. [...]
