CP, T and CPT at CPLEAR / Filipcic, Andrej (Stefan Inst., Ljubljana) ; Angelopoulos, A (Athens U.) ; Apostolakis, A (Athens U.) ; Aslanides, E (Marseille, CPPM) ; Backenstoss, G (Basel U.) ; Bargassa, P (PSI, Villigen) ; Behnke, O (Zurich, ETH) ; Benelli, A (Basel U.) ; Bertin, V (Marseille, CPPM) ; Blanc, F (Fribourg U. ; PSI, Villigen) et al. /CPLEAR
Using strangeness tagging at production time, CPLEAR measures time-dependent decay rate asymmetries between $K^0$ and $\bar{K}^0$, for picnic and semileptonic decays. Parameters describing CP, T, and CPT violation can be obtained with high precision. [...]

Measurement of the $\pi K$ atom lifetime and the $\pi K$ scattering length / DIRAC Collaboration
After having announced the statistically significant observation (5.6~$\sigma$) of the new exotic $\pi K$ atom, the DIRAC experiment at the CERN proton synchrotron presents the measurement of the corresponding atom lifetime, based on the full $\pi K$ data sample: $\tau = (5.5^{+5.0}_{-2.8}) \cdot 10^{-15}s$. By means of a precise relation ($<1\%$) between atom lifetime and scattering length, the following value for the S-wave isospin-odd $\pi K$ scattering length $a_0^{-}~=~\frac{1}{3}(a_{1/2}-a_{3/2})$ has been derived: $\left|a_0^-\right| = (0.072^{+0.031}_{-0.020}) M_{\pi}^{-1}$..

Measurement of the mass difference between top quark and antiquark in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 8$ TeV / CMS Collaboration
The invariance of the standard model (SM) under the CPT transformation predicts equality of particle and antiparticle masses. This prediction is tested by measuring the mass difference between the top quark and antiquark (Delta m[t] = m[t] - m[t-bar]) that are produced in pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV, using events with a muon or an electron and at least four jets in the final state. Observation of $\pi^- K^+$ and $\pi^+ K^-$ atoms / DIRAC Collaboration
The observation of hydrogen-like $\pi K$ atoms, consisting of $\pi^- K^+$ or $\pi^+ K^-$ mesons, is presented. The atoms have been produced by 24 GeV/$c$ protons from the CERN PS accelerator, interacting with platinum or nickel foil targets. [...]

First observation of long-lived $\pi^+ \pi^-$ atoms / DIRAC Collaboration
After observing and investigating the double-exotic $\pi^+\pi^-$ atom with the ground state lifetime $\tau$ of about $3 \times 10^{-15}$~s, the upgraded DIRAC experiment at the CERN PS accelerator observes for the first time long-lived states of the same atom with lifetimes of about $10^{-11}$~s and more. The number of characteristic pion pairs resulting from the breakup (ionisation) of long-lived $\pi^+\pi^-$ atoms amounts to $436\pm61$, corresponding to a signal-to-error ratio of better than 7 standard deviations. Updated DIRAC spectrometer at CERN PS for the investigation of ππ and πK atoms / PS212 collaboration
The DIRAC spectrometer installed at CERN PS was redesigned and upgraded in order to study simultaneously Aππ and AπK atoms, namely the bound states of π+π–, and π+K–, π–K+ mesons. The detector system which is able to accept a high intensity beam such as 2 - 6 × 1011 primary protons per second, the electronics and the data-acquisition system adapted to handle very large amount of data actually allowed to identify successfully π, K, p, e and µ and to give the possibility to select π-π and π-K pairs in the off-line analysis. Measurement of jet fragmentation in PbPb and pp collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV / CMS Collaboration
The jet fragmentation function of inclusive jets with transverse momentum $p_T$ above 100 GeV/c in PbPb collisions has been measured using reconstructed charged particles with $p_T$ above 1 GeV/c in a cone of radius 0.3 around the jet axis. A data sample of PbPb collisions collected in 2011 at a nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 150 inverse-microbarns is used. Measurement of the ratio of inclusive jet cross sections using the anti-$k_T$ algorithm with radius parameters R=0.5 and 0.7 in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV / CMS Collaboration
Measurements of the inclusive jet cross section with the anti-$k_t$ clustering algorithm are presented for two radius parameters, R=0.5 and 0.7. They are based on data from LHC proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.0 inverse-femtobarns collected with the CMS detector in 2011. [...]

Description and performance of track and primary-vertex reconstruction with the CMS tracker / CMS Collaboration
A description is provided of the software algorithms developed for the CMS tracker both for reconstructing charged-particle trajectories in proton-proton interactions and for using the resulting tracks to estimate the positions of the LHC luminous region and individual primary-interaction vertices. Despite the very hostile environment at the LHC, the performance obtained with these algorithms is found to be excellent. [...]
