Quality Control of Mass-Produced GEM Detectors for the CMS GE1/1 Muon Upgrade / Abbas, Syed Mohsin (IPM, Tehran) ; Abbrescia, Marcello (INFN, Bari ; Bari U.) ; Abdalla, Hassan Fathy (Cairo, Acad. Sci. Res. Tech.) ; Abdelalim, Ahmed Ali (Cairo, Acad. Sci. Res. Tech.) ; Abuzeid Hassan, Shimaa Abdelwahed (INFN, Pavia) ; Agapitos, Antonis (Peking U.) ; Ahmad, Ashfaq (Quaid-i-Azam U.) ; Ahmed, Asar (Delhi U.) ; Ahmed, Waqar (Quaid-i-Azam U.) ; Aimè, Chiara (INFN, Pavia ; Pavia U.) et al.
The series of upgrades to the Large Hadron Collider, culminating in the High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider, will enable a significant expansion of the physics program of the CMS experiment. However, the accelerator upgrades will also make the experimental conditions more challenging, with implications for detector operations, triggering, and data analysis. [...]

Electrical Discharge Mitigation Strategies for Future CMS GEM Systems GE2/1 and ME0 / Starling, Elizabeth Rose (Brussels U.) /CMS Muon Group Collaboration
In 2019-2020, the first of the CMS gas electron multiplier (GEM) systems, GE1/1, was installed into the CMS muon endcaps, to be fully operational by Run 3. This represents the first of three major GEM-based additions into CMS, to be followed in future runs by GE2/1 and the very forward muon tagger ME0. [...]

Detection and Mitigation of Propagating Electrical Discharges Within the Gas Electron Multiplier Detectors of the CMS Muon System for the CERN HL-LHC / Starling, Elizabeth Rose
In preparation for the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) at CERN, the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) Detector is undergoing a series of upgrades to its existing infrastructure, and is adding in several completely new subdetector systems [...]

Electronics System of the CMS GE1/1 Muon Upgrade and Lessons Learned From the Slice Test During the 2017-2018 LHC Runs / Starling, Elizabeth Rose (Brussels U.) /CMS Muon Group Collaboration
In this contribution, we will present the status of the readout electronics system for the triple-GEM detectors of the GE1/1 system, an upgrade which is being installed into the CMS experiment during the present LHC long shutdown (LS2) in 2019-2020. We will also report on the lessons learned from the ten slice test detectors which have been installed in CMS since 2017 and represent the first time that such large triple-GEM detectors have been operated within the LHC environment, and on the first results from the slice test detectors equipped with v3 electronics that were added to the slice test in March 2018. Status of the Readout Electronics for Triple-GEM Detectors of the CMS GE1/1 System and Performance of the Slice Test in the 2017-18 LHC Run / Starling, Elizabeth Rose (Brussels U.) /CMS Collaboration
In this contribution, we will present the status of the readout electronics system for the triple-GEM detectors of the GE1/1 system which is planned for installation into CMS in 2019-2019 (LS2), as well as the performance of the ten slice test detectors which were installed into the CMS endcap in January 2017. These slice test detectors are read out on the front end using 24 VFAT2 chips and a corresponding v2 optohybrid board, and from the back end using a microTCA crate containing 24 VFAT2 chips and AMC13 boards.
