Test beam demonstration of silicon microstrip modules with transverse momentum discrimination for the future CMS tracking detector / The CMS Tracker collaboration
A new CMS Tracker is under development for operation at the High Luminosity LHC from 2026 onwards. It includes an outer tracker based on dedicated modules that will reconstruct short track segments, called stubs, using spatially coincident clusters in two closely spaced silicon sensor layers. [...]

P-stop isolation study of irradiated n-in-p type silicon strip sensors for harsh radiation environment / Printz, Martin (KIT, Karlsruhe, EKP) /CMS Collaboration
In order to determine the most radiation hard silicon sensors for the CMS Experiment after the Phase II Upgrade in 2023 a comprehensive study of silicon sensors after a fluence of up to $1.5\times10^{15} n_{eq}/cm^{2}$ corresponding to $3000 fb^{-1}$ after the HL-LHC era has been carried out. The results led to the decision that the future Outer Tracker (20~cm${<}R{<}$110~cm) of CMS will consist of n-in-p type sensors. [...]

Search for pair-produced vector-like B quarks in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} =$ 8 TeV / CMS Collaboration
A search for the production of a heavy B quark, having electric charge ${-}1/3$ and vector couplings to W, Z, and H bosons, is carried out using proton-proton collision data recorded at the CERN LHC by the CMS experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb$^{-1}$. The B quark is assumed to be pair-produced and to decay in one of three ways: to tW, bZ, or bH. [...]

Search for supersymmetry with photons in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 8 TeV / CMS Collaboration
Two searches for physics beyond the standard model in events containing photons are presented. The data sample used corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb$^{-1}$ of proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$ 8 TeV, collected with the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC. [...]

Design Optimization of Pixel Sensors using Device Simulations for the Phase-II CMS Tracker Upgrade / CMS Collaboration
\begin{abstract} In order to address the problems caused by the harsh radiation environment during the high luminosity phase of the LHC (HL-LHC), all silicon tracking detectors (pixels and strips) in the CMS experiment will undergo an upgrade. And so to develop radiation hard pixel sensors, simulations have been performed using the 2D TCAD device simulator, SILVACO, to obtain design parameters [...]

Radiation hard sensor materials for the CMS Tracker Phase II Upgrade - Charge collection of different bulk polarities / Printz, Martin (Karlsruhe U., EKP) /CMS Tracker
The upgrade of the LHC machine to deliver a significantly higher luminosity of about 5×1034cm−2s−1 is planned to be operational after 2022. This will simultaneously increase the radiation dose for the inner detector systems, requiring new radiation hard sensor materials for the CMS Tracker. [...]

Combined Measurement of the Higgs Boson Mass in $pp$ Collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 and 8 TeV with the ATLAS and CMS Experiments / ATLAS and CMS Collaborations
A measurement of the Higgs boson mass is presented based on the combined data samples of the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the CERN LHC in the $H \rightarrow \gamma\gamma$ and $H \rightarrow ZZ\rightarrow 4\ell$ decay channels. The results are obtained from a simultaneous fit to the reconstructed invariant mass peaks in the two channels and for the two experiments. [...]
