Identifying critical plastic activity in electrodes under intense electric fields and the link to breakdown nucleation / Ashkenazy, Yinon (Hebrew U.) ; Popov, Inna (Hebrew U.) ; Yashar, Ayelet (Hebrew U.) ; Gad, Raanan (Hebrew U.) ; Profatilova, Iaroslava (CERN) ; Paszkiewicz, Jan (CERN) ; Peacock, Ruth (CERN) ; Wuensch, Walter (CERN)
The hypothesis that arc nucleation is related to plastic activity due to collective motion of dislocation in the cathode is examined via experiments and theoretical efforts over the last few years. Current theoretical and experimental observations indicating specific dislocation activity related to the applied high field are reviewed. [...]

A Novel Model of a Mode-Localized MEMS Accelerometer / Morozov, N F (St. Petersburg Acad. U.) ; Indeitsev, D A (St. Petersburg Acad. U.) ; Igumnova, V S (Unlisted, RU) ; Belyaev, Ya V (Unlisted, RU) ; Lukin, A V (Unlisted, RU) ; Popov, I A (Unlisted, RU) ; Shtukin, L V (St. Petersburg Acad. U.)
In this work, a model of a microelectromechanical accelerometer with two movable beam elements located between two stationary electrodes is proposed. The action of inertia forces in the longitudinal direction leads to a change in the spectral properties of the system, which can be used as an output signal of the sensor. [...]

Study of $\pi^0$ Dalitz decays in the NA62 and NA48/2 experiments / Maurice, E (Liverpool U.) ; Ambrosino, F ; Antonelli, A ; Anzivino, G ; Arcidiacono, R ; Baldini, W ; Balev, S ; Bifani, S ; Biino, C ; Bizzeti, A et al. /NA62 ; NA48/2
The NA62 experiment at CERN collected a large sample of charged kaon decays with a highly efficient trigger for decays into electrons in 2007. The kaon beam represents a source of tagged neutral pion decays in vacuum. [...]

ChPT tests at the NA48 and NA62 experiments at CERN / for the NA48/2 and NA62 Collaborations
The NA48/2 Collaboration at CERN has accumulated unprecedented statistics of rare kaon decays in the Ke4 modes: Ke4(+-) ($K^\pm \to \pi^+ \pi^- e^\pm \nu$) and Ke4(00) ($K^\pm \to \pi^0 \pi^0 e^\pm \nu$) with nearly one percent background contamination. The detailed study of form factors and branching rates, based on these data, has been completed recently. [...]

The NA48/2 Collaboration at CERN has accumulated and analysed unprecedented statistics of rare kaon decays in the $K_{e4}$ modes: $K_{e4}(+-)$ ($K^\pm \to \pi^+ \pi^- e^\pm \nu$) and $K_{e4}(00)$ ($K^\pm \to \pi^0 \pi^0 e^\pm \nu$) with nearly one percent background contamination. It leads to the improved measurement of branching fractions and detailed form factor studies. [...]

Precision Measurement of the Ratio of the Charged Kaon Leptonic Decay Rates / Lazzeroni, C. (Birmingham U.) ; Romano, A. (Birmingham U.) ; Ceccucci, A. (CERN) ; Danielsson, H. (CERN) ; Falaleev, V. (CERN) ; Gatignon, L. (CERN) ; Goy Lopez, S. (CERN ; Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Hallgren, B. (CERN ; Birmingham U.) ; Maier, A. (CERN) ; Peters, A. (CERN) et al.
A precision measurement of the ratio $R_K$ of the rates of kaon leptonic decays $K^\pm \to e^\pm\nu$ and $K^\pm \to \mu^\pm \nu$ with the full data sample collected by the NA62 experiment at CERN in $2007-2008$ is reported. The result, obtained by analysing $\sim\!150000$ reconstructed $K^\pm \to e^\pm \nu$ candidates with $11\%$ background contamination, is $R_K = (2.488\pm0.010)\times10^{-5}$, in agreement with the Standard Model expectation..

Test of Lepton Flavour Universality in $K^{+} \to l^{+}\nu$ Decays / NA62 Collaboration
A precision test of lepton flavour universality has been performed by measuring the ratio RK of kaon leptonic decay rates K+ --> e+nu and K+ --> mu+nu in a sample of 59813 reconstructed K+ --> e+nu candidates with (8.71 +- 0.24)% background contamination. The result RK = (2.487 +- 0.013) * 10^{-5} is in agreement with the Standard Model expectation..
