The "golden" channel, in which the newly-discovered Higgs boson decays to four leptons by means of intermediate vector bosons, is important for determining the properties of the Higgs boson and for searching for subtle new physics effects. Different approaches exist for parametrizing the relevant Higgs couplings in this channel; here we relate the use of pseudo-observables to methods based on specifying the most general amplitude or Lagrangian terms for the $HVV$ interactions. Identifying a new particle with jet substructures / Lim, Sung Hak (IBS, Daejeon, CTPU ; KAIST, Taejon) ; Han, Chengcheng (Tokyo U., IPMU) ; Kim, Doojin (U. Florida, Gainesville (main) ; CERN) ; Kim, Minho (POSTECH, Pohang ; IBS, Daejeon, CTPU) ; Kong, Kyoungchul (Pittsburgh U. ; Kansas U.) ; Park, Myeonghun (IBS, Daejeon, CTPU)
We investigate a potential of measuring properties of a heavy resonance X, exploiting jet substructure techniques. Motivated by heavy higgs boson searches, we focus on the decays of X into a pair of (massive) electroweak gauge bosons. [...]

OPTIMASS: A Package for the Minimization of Kinematic Mass Functions with Constraints / Cho, Won Sang (Florida U. ; IBS, Daejeon, CTPU) ; Gainer, James S. Reconstructed mass variables, such as $M_2$, $M_{2C}$, $M_T^\star$, and $M_{T2}^W$, play an essential role in searches for new physics at hadron colliders. The calculation of these variables generally involves constrained minimization in a large parameter space, which is numerically challenging. [...]

Invisible dark gauge boson search in top decays using a kinematic method / Kim, Doojin (Florida U.) ; Lee, Hye-Sung (CERN) ; Park, Myeonghun (APCTP, Pohang ; POSTECH, Pohang ; Tokyo U., IPMU)
We discuss the discovery potential of a dark force carrier ($Z'$) of very light mass, $m_{Z'} \lesssim {\cal O}(1-10)$ GeV, at hadron colliders via rare top quark decays, especially when it decays invisibly in typical search schemes. We emphasize that the top sector is promising for the discovery of new particles because top quark pairs are copiously produced at the Large Hadron Collider. [...]

Improving the sensitivity of stop searches with on-shell constrained invariant mass variables / Cho, Won Sang (Florida U. ; IBS, Daejeon, CTPU) ; Gainer, James S. (Florida U.) ; Kim, Doojin (Florida U.) ; Matchev, Konstantin T. (Florida U.) ; Moortgat, Filip (CERN) ; Pape, Luc (CERN) ; Park, Myeonghun (Tokyo U., IPMU ; APCTP, Pohang ; POSTECH)
The search for light stops is of paramount importance, both in general as a promising path to the discovery of beyond the standard model physics and more specifically as a way of evaluating the success of the naturalness paradigm. While the LHC experiments have ruled out much of the relevant parameter space, there are "stop gaps", i.e., values of sparticle masses for which existing LHC analyses have relatively little sensitivity to light stops. Gravity-mediated (or Composite) Dark Matter Confronts Astrophysical Data / Lee, Hyun Min (Chung-Ang U.) ; Park, Myeonghun (Tokyo U., IPMU ; CERN) ; Sanz, Veronica (Sussex U.)
We consider the astrophysical bounds on a new form of dark matter, the so called Gravity-mediated Dark Matter. In this scenario, dark matter communicates with us through a mediator sector composed of gravitational resonances, namely a new scalar (radion) and a massive spin-two resonance (massive graviton). On-shell constrained $M_2$ variables with applications to mass measurements and topology disambiguation / Cho, Won Sang (Florida U.) ; Gainer, James S. (Florida U.) ; Kim, Doojin (Florida U.) ; Matchev, Konstantin T. (Florida U.) ; Moortgat, Filip (CERN) ; Pape, Luc (CERN) ; Park, Myeonghun (Tokyo U., IPMU)
We consider a class of on-shell constrained mass variables that are 3+1 dimensional generalizations of the Cambridge $M_{T2}$ variable and that automatically incorporate various assumptions about the underlying event topology. The presence of additional on-shell constraints causes their kinematic distributions to exhibit sharper endpoints than the usual $M_{T2}$ distribution. [...]

The role of interference in unraveling the ZZ-couplings of the newly discovered boson at the LHC / Chen, Mingshui (Florida U.) ; Cheng, Tongguang (Florida U.) ; Gainer, James S (Florida U.) ; Korytov, Andrey (Florida U.) ; Matchev, Konstantin T (Florida U.) ; Milenovic, Predrag (Florida U.) ; Mitselmakher, Guenakh (Florida U.) ; Park, Myeonghun (CERN) ; Rinkevicius, Aurelijus (Florida U.) ; Snowball, Matthew (Florida U.)
We present a general procedure for measuring the tensor structure of the coupling of the scalar Higgs-like boson recently discovered at the LHC to two Z bosons, including the effects of interference among different operators. To motivate our concern with this interference, we explore the parameter space of the couplings in the effective theory describing these interactions and illustrate the effects of interference on the differential dilepton mass distributions.
