CERN Secondary Beamlines Software Migration Project / Gerbershagen, Alexander (CERN) ; Banerjee, Dipanwita (CERN) ; Bernhard, Johannes (CERN) ; Brugger, Markus (CERN) ; Charitonidis, Nikolaos (CERN) ; D'Alessandro, Gian Luigi (CERN ; Royal Holloway, U. of London) ; Gatignon, Laurent (CERN) ; Montbarbon, Eva (CERN) ; Peres, Inbal (CERN ; Technion) ; Rae, Bastien (CERN) et al.
The Experimental Areas group of the CERN Engineering department operates a number of beamlines for the fixed target experiments, irradiation facilities and test beams. The software currently used for the simulation of the beamline layout (BEATCH), beam optics (TRANSPORT), particle tracking (TURTLE) and muon halo calculation (HALO) has been developed in FORTRAN in the 1980s and requires an update in order to ensure long-term continuity. Studies for New Experiments at the CERN M2 Beamline within "Physics Beyond Colliders": AMBER/COMPASS++, NA64$\mu$, MuonE / NA64 collaboration
The "Physics Beyond Colliders (PBC)" study explores fundamental physics opportunities at the CERN accelerator complex complementary to collider experiments. Three new collaborations aim to exploit the M2 beamline in the North Area with existing high-intensity muon and hadron beams, but also aspire to go beyond the current M2 capabilities with a RF-separated, high intensity hadron beam, under study. [...]

Muon background studies for beam dump operation of the K12 beam line at CERN / Rosenthal, Marcel (CERN) ; Banerjee, Dipanwita (CERN) ; Bernhard, Johannes (CERN) ; Brugger, Markus (CERN) ; Charitonidis, Nikolaos (CERN) ; Döbrich, Babette (CERN) ; Gatignon, Laurent (CERN) ; Gerbershagen, Alexander (CERN) ; Montbarbon, Eva (CERN) ; Rae, Bastien (CERN) et al.
In the scope of the Physics Beyond Colliders study at CERN a future operation of the NA62 experiment in beam dump mode is discussed, enabling the search for dark sector particles, e.g. heavy neutral leptons, dark photons and axions. [...]

The new CERN East Area primary and secondary beams / Montbarbon, Eva (CERN) ; Banerjee, Dipanwita (CERN) ; Bernhard, Johannes (CERN) ; Brethoux, Damien (CERN) ; Brugger, Markus (CERN) ; Carlsen, Bard (CERN) ; Charitonidis, Nikolaos (CERN) ; Ebn Rahmoun, Aboubakr (CERN) ; Evrard, Sebastien (CERN) ; Gatignon, Laurent (CERN) et al. /CERN East Area Renovation project team
The East Area at the Proton Synchrotron is one of the intensely used facilities at CERN, serving for over 56 years beams nowadays to more than 20 user teams and experiments for about 200 days of running each year. Besides primary proton and ion beams for the irradiation facilities IRRAD and CHARM, mixed secondary beams of hadrons, electrons and muons within a range of 0.5 GeV/c to 12 GeV/c are provided. [...]

The "Physics Beyond Colliders" projects for the CERN M2 beam / Banerjee, Dipanwita (CERN ; Illinois U., Urbana (main)) ; Bernhard, Johannes (CERN) ; Brugger, Markus (CERN) ; Charitonidis, Nikolaos (CERN) ; Cholak, Serhii (Taras Shevchenko U.) ; D'Alessandro, Gian Luigi (Royal Holloway, U. of London) ; Gatignon, Laurent (CERN) ; Gerbershagen, Alexander (CERN) ; Montbarbon, Eva (CERN) ; Rae, Bastien (CERN) et al.
Physics Beyond Colliders is an exploratory study aimed at exploiting the full scientific potential of CERN’s accelerator complex up to 2040 and its scientific infrastructure through projects complementary to the existing and possible future colliders. Within the Conventional Beam Working Group (CBWG), several projects for the M2 beam line in the CERN North Area were proposed, such as a successor for the COMPASS experiment, a muon programme for NA64 dark sector physics, and the MuonE proposal aiming at investigating the hadronic contribution to the vacuum polarisation. The K12 beamline for the KLEVER experiment / Van Dijk, Maarten (CERN) ; Banerjee, Dipanwita (CERN) ; Bernhard, Johannes (CERN) ; Brugger, Markus (CERN) ; Charitonidis, Nikolaos (CERN) ; D'Alessandro, Gian Luigi (CERN) ; Doble, Niels (CERN) ; Gatignon, Laurent (CERN) ; Gerbershagen, Alexander (CERN) ; Montbarbon, Eva (CERN) et al.
The KLEVER experiment is proposed to run in the CERN ECN3 underground cavern from 2026 onward. The goal of the experiment is to measure ${\rm{BR}}(K_L \rightarrow \pi^0v\bar{v})$, which could yield information about potential new physics, by itself and in combination with the measurement of ${\rm{BR}}(K^+ \rightarrow \pi^+v\bar{v})$ of NA62. Report from the Conventional Beams Working Group to the Physics Beyond Collider Study and to the European Strategy for Particle Physics / Gatignon, Lau (CERN) ; Banerjee, Dipanwita (Univ. Illinois at Urbana Champaign (US)) ; Bernhard, Johannes (CERN) ; Brugger, Markus (CERN) ; Charitonidis, Nikolaos (CERN) ; D'Alessandro, Gian Luigi (University of London (GB)) ; Doble, Niels (INFN Sezione di Pisa, Universita' e Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa (IT)) ; Van Dijk, Maarten (CERN) ; Gerbershagen, Alexander (CERN) ; Montbarbon, Eva (CERN) et al.
This document summarises the main conclusions of the Conventional Beams Working group, which has analysed the beam related and technical requirements and requests in the proposals to the Physics Beyond Colliders study for the North Area at the CERN SPS. We present results from studies on feasibility, requirements, compatibility between proposals and, where possible, the order of magnitude of the costs. [...]
