Measurement of the inclusive semileptonic $B$ meson branching fraction in 62.8 fb$^{-1}$ of Belle II data / Belle-II Collaboration
We report a measurement of the branching fraction of inclusive semileptonic $B$ meson decays $B\to X_c\ell\nu\ell$ in $\Upsilon(4S)\to B\bar B$~data recorded by the Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+e^-$ collider and corresponding to 62.8 fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity. We present a reconstruction in early data of the semileptonic decay $B^+ \to \pi^0 \ell^+ \nu_\ell$, and first results of a reconstruction of the decays $B^+ \to \rho^0 \ell^+ \nu_\ell$ and $B^0 \to \rho^- \ell^+ \nu_\ell$ in a sample corresponding to 62.8 fb$^{-1}$ of Belle II data using hadronic $B$-tagging via the full-event-interpretation algorithm. Irradiation aging of the CMS Drift Tube muon detector / Ferrero, D.D. Redondo ; Abbiendi, G. ; Maestre, J. Alcaraz ; Fernández, A. Álvarez ; González, B. Álvarez ; Amapane, N. ; Bachiller, I. ; Barcala, J.M. ; Barcellan, L. ; Battilana, C. et al.
During the High Luminosity LHC, the Drift Tube chambers installed in the CMS detector need to operate with an integrated dose ten times higher than expected at the LHC due to the increase in integrated luminosity from 300 fb${-1}$ to 3000 fb$^{-1}$. Irradiations have been performed to assess the performance of the detector under such conditions and to characterize the radiation aging of the detector. [...]

Angular analysis of the decay $\mathrm{B^{+}}\to {\mathrm{K}^{*}(892)^{+}} \mu^{+} \mu^{-}$ in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = $ 8 TeV / CMS Collaboration
Angular distributions of the decay $\mathrm{B^{+}}\to {\mathrm{K}^{*}(892)^{+}} \mu^{+} \mu^{-}$ are studied using events collected with the CMS detector in $\sqrt{s} = $ 8 TeV proton-proton collisions at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 20.0 fb$^{-1}$. The forward-backward asymmetry of the muons and the longitudinal polarization of the ${\mathrm{K}^{*}(892)^{+}}$ meson are determined as a function of the square of the dimuon invariant mass. [...]

Measurement of single-diffractive dijet production in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} =$ 8 TeV with the CMS and TOTEM experiments / CMS and TOTEM Collaborations
Measurements are presented of the single-diffractive dijet cross section and the diffractive cross section as a function of the proton fractional momentum loss $\xi$ and the four-momentum transfer squared $t$. Both processes ${\mathrm{p}}{\mathrm{p}} \to {\mathrm{p}}\mathrm{X}$ and ${\mathrm{p}}{\mathrm{p}} \to \mathrm{X}{\mathrm{p}}$, ie with the proton scattering to either side of the interaction point, are measured, where $\mathrm{X}$ includes at least two jets; the results of the two processes are averaged [...]

The CMS drift tubes (DT) muon detector, built for withstanding the LHC expected integrated and instantaneous luminosities, will be used also in the High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) at a 5 times larger instantaneous luminosity and, consequently, much higher levels of radiation, reaching about 10 times the LHC integrated luminosity. Initial irradiation tests of a spare DT chamber at the CERN gamma irradiation facility (GIF++), at large ($\sim$O(100)) acceleration factor, showed ageing effects resulting in a degradation of the DT cell performance. Observation of the $\Lambda_{\mathrm{b}}^0 \to \mathrm{J}/\psi \Lambda \phi$ decay in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = $ 13 TeV / CMS Collaboration
The observation of the $\Lambda_{\mathrm{b}}^0 \to \mathrm{J}/\psi \Lambda \phi$ decay is reported using proton-proton collision data collected at $\sqrt{s} = $ 13 TeV by the CMS experiment at the LHC in 2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 60 fb$^{-1}$. The ratio of the branching fractions ${\cal B}(\Lambda_{\mathrm{b}}^0 \to \mathrm{J}/\psi \Lambda \phi)/{\cal B}(\Lambda_{\mathrm{b}}^0\to \psi{\mathrm{(2S)}} \Lambda)$ is measured to be (8.26 $\pm$ 0.90 (stat) $\pm$ 0.68 (syst) $\pm$ 0.11 (${\cal B}$) ) $\times 10^{-2}$, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, and the last uncertainty reflects the uncertainties in the world-average branching fractions of $\phi$ and $\psi{\mathrm{(2S)}}$ decays to the reconstructed final states..

Studies of charm quark diffusion inside jets using PbPb and pp collisions at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}} =$ 5.02 TeV / CMS Collaboration
The first study of charm quark diffusion with respect to the jet axis in heavy ion collisions is presented. The measurement is performed using jets with ${p_{\mathrm{T}}^{\text{jet}}} > $ 60 GeV/$c$ and ${\mathrm{D^0}}$ mesons with ${p_{\mathrm{T}}^{\text{D}}} > $ 4 GeV/$c$ in lead-lead (PbPb) and proton-proton (pp) collisions at a nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy of $ {\sqrt {\smash [b]{s_{_{\mathrm {NN}}}}}} = $ 5.02 TeV, recorded by the CMS detector at the LHC. Measurement of properties of B$^0_\mathrm{s}\to\mu^+\mu^-$ decays and search for B$^0\to\mu^+\mu^-$ with the CMS experiment / CMS Collaboration
Results are reported for the ${\mathrm{B}^{0}_{\mathrm{s}}\to\mu^{+}\mu^{-}}$ branching fraction and effective lifetime and from a search for the decay ${\mathrm{B}^{0}\to\mu^{+}\mu^{-}} $. The analysis uses a data sample of proton-proton collisions accumulated by the CMS experiment in 2011, 2012, and 2016, with center-of-mass energies (integrated luminosities) of 7 TeV (5 fb$^{-1}$), 8 TeV (20 fb$^{-1}$), and 13 TeV (36 fb$^{-1}$).
