Construction of precision wire readout planes for the Short-Baseline Near Detector (SBND) / SBND Collaboration
The Short-Baseline Near Detector time projection chamber is unique in the design of its charge readout planes. These anode plane assemblies (APAs) have been fabricated and assembled to meet strict accuracy and precision requirements: wire spacing of 3 mm +/- 0.5 mm and wire tension of 7 N +/- 1 N across 3,964 wires per APA, and flatness within 0.5 mm over the 4 m +/- 2.5 m extent of each APA. Design of the cryogenic systems for the Near and Far LAr-TPC detectors of the Short-Baseline Neutrino program (SBN) at Fermilab / Geynisman, M (Fermilab) ; Bremer, J (CERN) ; Chalifour, M (CERN) ; Delaney, M (Fermilab) ; Dinnon, M (Fermilab) ; Doubnik, R (Fermilab) ; Hentschel, S (Fermilab) ; Kim, M J (Fermilab) ; Montanari, C (INFN, Pavia) ; Montanari, D (Fermilab) et al.
The Short-Baseline Neutrino (SBN) physics program at Fermilab and Neutrino Platform (NP) at CERN are part of the international Neutrino Program leading to the development of Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility/Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (LBNF/DUNE) science project. The SBN program consisting of three Liquid Argon Time Projection Chamber (LAr-TPC) detectors positioned along the Booster Neutrino Beam (BNB) at Fermilab includes an existing detector known as MicroBooNE (170-ton LAr-TPC) plus two new experiments known as SBN’s Near Detector (SBND, ~260 tons) and SBN’s Far Detector (SBN-FD, ~760 tons). Overview of the Liquid Argon Cryogenics for the Short Baseline Neutrino Program (SBN) at Fermilab / Norris, Barry (Fermilab) ; Bremer, Johan (CERN) ; Chalifour, Michel (CERN) ; Delaney, Mike (Fermilab) ; Dinnon, Mike (Fermilab) ; Doubnik, Roza (Fermilab) ; Geynisman, Michael (Fermilab) ; Hentschel, Steve (Fermilab) ; Kim, Min Jeong (Fermilab) ; Stefanik, Andy (Fermilab) et al.
The Short-Baseline Neutrino (SBN) physics program will involve three LAr-TPC detectors located along the Booster Neutrino Beam (BNB) at Fermilab. This new SBN Program will deliver a rich and compelling physics opportunity, including the ability to resolve a class of experimental anomalies in neutrino physics and to perform the most sensitive search to date for sterile neutrinos at the eV mass-scale through both appearance and disappearance oscillation channels. Development of membrane cryostats for large liquid argon neutrino detectors / Montanari, D (Fermilab) ; Bremer, J (CERN) ; Gendotti, A (Zurich, ETH) ; Geynisman, M (Fermilab) ; Hentschel, S (Fermilab) ; Loew, T (LBL, Berkeley) ; Mladenov, D (CERN) ; Montanari, C (INFN, Pavia) ; Murphy, S (Zurich, ETH) ; Nessi, M (CERN) et al.
A new collaboration is being formed to develop a multi-kiloton Long-Baseline neutrino experiment that will be located at the Surf Underground Research Facility (SURF) in Lead, SD. In the present design, the detector will be located inside cryostats filled with 68,400 ton of ultrapure liquid argon (less than 100 parts per trillion of oxygen equivalent contamination). [...]

Development of cryogenic installations for large liquid argon neutrino detectors / Adamowski, M (Fermilab) ; Bremer, J (CERN) ; Geynisman, M (Fermilab) ; Hentschel, S (Fermilab) ; Montanari, D (Fermilab) ; Nessi, M (CERN) ; Norris, B (Fermilab)
A proposal for a very large liquid argon (68,000 kg) based neutrino detector is being studied. To validate the design principles and the detector technology, and to gain experience in the development of the cryostats and the cryogenic systems needed for such large experiments, several smaller scale installations will be developed and implemented, at Fermilab and CERN.
