CMS RPC performance and operation in LHC Run 3 / CMS Collaboration
The CMS experiment has collected more than 180 fb$^{-1}$ of proton-proton collision data at a 13.6 TeV center-of-mass energy in Run 3 data taking (2022, 2023 and 2024). The CMS RPC system faces the challenge of the LHC delivered instantaneous luminosity of up to 2 x 10$^{34}$ cm$^{-2}$s$^{-1}$, providing redundant information for robust muon triggering, reconstruction and identification. In high-energy particle accelerators, circulating particle beams with high intensity interact electromagnetically with their surroundings (i.e., metallic vacuum chambers of various geometries). These electromagnetic interactions, which are typically described through the concept of beam-coupling impedance, can represent a serious issue in terms of stability of the particle beam and heating on the accelerator structures. Search for resonant pair production of Higgs bosons in the $ \mathrm{b}\overline{\mathrm{b}}\mathrm{b}\overline{\mathrm{b}} $ final state using large-area jets in proton-proton collisions at $ \sqrt{s}= $ 13 TeV / CMS Collaboration
A search is presented for the resonant production of a pair of standard model-like Higgs bosons using data from proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, collected by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC in 2016-2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb$ ^{-1} $. CMS iRPC FEB development and validation / CMS Muon Collaboration
In view of the High Luminosity upgrade of the CERN LHC, the forward CMS Muon spectrometer will be extended with two new stations of improved Resistive Plate Chambers (iRPC) covering the pseudorapidity range from 1.8 to 2.4. Compared to the present RPC system, the gap thickness is reduced to lower the avalanche charge, and an innovative 2D strip readout geometry is proposed. [...]

Characterization of Lab-on-Fiber-based dosimeters in ultra-high dose radiation fields / Vaiano, Patrizio (Sannio U.) ; Quero, Giuseppe (Sannio U.) ; Fienga, Francesco (Naples U. ; CERN) ; Di Meo, Valentina (INFN, Naples) ; Casolaro, Pierluigi (Bern U., LHEP) ; Campajola, Luigi (INFN, Naples) ; Breglio, Giovanni (Naples U. ; CERN) ; Crescitelli, Alessio (INFN, Naples) ; Esposito, Emanuela (INFN, Naples) ; Cutolo, Antonello (Naples U.) et al.
Next generation High Energy Physics (HEP) accelerators will require new devices and technologies capable of operating in extreme environments characterized by ultra-high radiation doses up to the MGy levels. To this aim, we report on an innovative Lab-On-Fiber (LOF) probe for the real-time dose monitoring. [...]

Latest results of Longevity studies on the present CMS RPC system for HL-LHC phase / CMS Muon Collaboration
The present Compact Muon Solenoid Resistive Plate Chambers system has been worked efficiently during Run I and Run II of data taking period (Shah et al., 2020) [1]. In the coming years of operation with the High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC), the expected rate and integrated charge are expected to be about 600 Hz/cm2 and 840 mC/cm2, respectively (including a safety factor of three). In the field of accelerator physics, it is crucial to account for heating caused by the passage of high-intensity beams into accelerator components. This phenomenon is known as radio frequency (RF) beam-induced heating (BIH) and requires, other than an accurate design stage, to constantly monitor temperature-related parameters during the accelerator operations. Method for the interrogation of FBG thermo-hygrometer through full analog circuit / Marrazzo, Vincenzo Romano (CERN ; Naples U.) ; Fienga, Francesco (CERN ; Naples U.) ; Zenga, Alfredo (CERN ; Naples U.) ; Riccio, Michele (Naples U.) ; Buontempo, Salvatore (CERN ; INFN, Italy) ; Irace, Andrea (Naples U.) ; Breglio, Giovanni (CERN ; Naples U.)
The proposed work has the aim to investigate a full analog electrical circuitry to convert the wavelength-encoded signal coming from a pair of Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensors into a single monotonic electrical signal. The latter can be used either to be read from a PLC system (or directly by a switch) if a 4-20 mA signal is needed (e.g. [...]
