We report Gaussian boson sampling (GBS) experiments which produce up to 113 photon detection events out of a 144-mode photonic circuit. A new high-brightness and scalable quantum light source is developed, exploring the idea of stimulated emission of squeezed photons, which has simultaneously near-unity purity and efficiency. [...]

Proton irradiation effects in Molybdenum-Carbide-Graphite composites
/ Simos, N (Brookhaven) ; Charitonidis, N (CERN) ; Simon, P (CERN) ; Whitaker, M (Brookhaven ; YITP, Stony Brook) ; Zhong, H (YITP, Stony Brook) ; Ghose, S (Brookhaven) ; Zhong, Z (Brookhaven) ; Quaranta, E (CERN) ; Guardia-Valenzuela, J (CERN) ; Accettura, C (CERN ; Milan Polytechnic) et al.
The High Luminosity upgrade of the Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) has prompted the investigation of novel materials for beam-intercepting devices, and in particular for the collimators responsible for protecting the machine from beam losses. The HL-LHC collimation system will inevitably experience increased levels of radiation damage and undergo changes in their crucial physio-mechanical properties. [...]

Fully heavy tetraquark states and their evidences in LHC observations

Stimulated by the exciting progress on the observations of the fully-charmed tetraquarks at LHC, we carry out a combined analysis of the mass spectra and fall-apart decays of the $1S$-, $2S$-, and $1P$-wave $cc\bar{c}\bar{c}$ states in a nonrelativistic quark model (NRQM). It is found that the $X(6600)$ structure observed in the di-$J/\psi$ invariant mass spectrum can be explained by the $1S$-wave state $T_{(4c)0^{++}}(6550)$. [...]

We show that the Pomeron exchanges play a unique role in vector charmonium scatterings. Such a mechanism can provide a natural explanation for the nontrivial structures in the di-$J/\psi$ spectrum observed by the LHCb Collaboration. [...]

200 MeV proton irradiation of the oxide-dispersion-strengthened copper alloy (GlidCop-Al15)
/ Simos, N (Brookhaven Natl. Lab. ; Stony Brook U.) ; Kotsina, Z (Democritos Nucl. Res. Ctr.) ; Dooryhee, E (Brookhaven Natl. Lab.) ; Zhong, Z (Brookhaven Natl. In search to identify extremely stable materials to perform the collimation function of the 7-TeV proton beam halo at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), oxide dispersion strengthened (DS) copper alloys were explored. These internally oxidized copper alloys known as GlidCop are also leading candidates for high heat flux applications in fusion reactors and as divertor and first wall structure in ITER. [...]

Proton Irradiation Effects on the Physio-Mechanical Properties and Microstructure of Cold-Worked Molybdenum

High temperature refractory materials and alloys including Mo and TZM have been considered and studied to assess their applicability in fusion reactor applications in addition to spallation targets in particle accelerators. The impacts of neutron, proton and ion irradiation on the properties and microstructure of pure Mo and its combination TZM have been evaluated through illumination damage studies. [...]
