A Linear Collider Vision for the Future of Particle Physics / Linear Collider Vision Collaboration
In this paper we review the physics opportunities at linear $e^+e^-$ colliders with a special focus on high centre-of-mass energies and beam polarisation, take a fresh look at the various accelerator technologies available or under development and, for the first time, discuss how a facility first equipped with a technology mature today could be upgraded with technologies of tomorrow to reach much higher energies and/or luminosities. Part. Phys.) et al.
In this work the initial performance studies of the first small monolithic pixel sensors dedicated to charged particle detection, called CE-65, fabricated in the 65nm TowerJazz Panasonic Semiconductor Company are presented. The tested prototypes comprise matrices of 64 $\times$ 32 square analogue-output pixels with a pitch of 15 $\mu$m. [...]

A new benchmark of soft X-ray transition energies of $\mathrm {Ne}$, $\mathrm {CO}_2$, and $\mathrm {SF}_6$: paving a pathway towards ppm accuracy / Stierhof, J. (Erlangen - Nuremberg U.) ; Kühn, S. (Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst.) ; Winter, M. (Erlangen - Nuremberg U. ; Neel Lab, Grenoble) ; Micke, P. (CERN) ; Steinbrügge, R. (DESY) ; Shah, C. (NASA, Goddard ; Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst. ; LLNL, Livermore) ; Hell, N. (LLNL, Livermore) ; Bissinger, M. (Erlangen - Nuremberg U.) ; Hirsch, M. (Erlangen - Nuremberg U.) ; Ballhausen, R. (Erlangen - Nuremberg U.) et al.
A key requirement for the correct interpretation of high-resolution X-ray spectra is that transition energies are known with high accuracy and precision. We investigate the K-shell features of Ne, CO$_2$, and SF$_6$ gases, by measuring their photo ion-yield spectra at the BESSY II synchrotron facility simultaneously with the 1s-np fluorescence emission of He-like ions produced in the Polar-X EBIT. From vertex detectors to inner trackers with CMOS pixel sensors / Besson, A. (U. Strasbourg) ; Pérez Pérez, A. (Strasbourg, IPHC) ; Spiriti, E. (Frascati) ; Baudot, J. (U. Strasbourg) ; Claus, G. (Strasbourg, IPHC) ; Goffe, M. (Strasbourg, IPHC) ; Winter, M. (Strasbourg, IPHC)
The use of CMOS Pixel Sensors (CPS) for high resolution and low material vertex detectors has been validated with the 2014 and 2015 physics runs of the STAR-PXL detector at RHIC/BNL. This opens the door to the use of CPS for inner tracking devices, with 10-100 times larger sensitive area, which require therefore a sensor design privileging power saving, response uniformity and robustness.
