Evolution of nuclear structure in the neutron-rich Nb96,97,99 isotopes: Evidence for shape coexistence in N=58Nb99 / Kumar, V (West Scotland U. ; Strathclyde U.) ; Chapman, R (West Scotland U. ; Strathclyde U.) ; O'Donnell, D (West Scotland U. ; Strathclyde U.) ; Ollier, J (West Scotland U. ; Strathclyde U.) ; Orlandi, R (JAEA, Ibaraki) ; Smith, J F (West Scotland U. ; Strathclyde U.) ; Spohr, K -M (West Scotland U. ; Strathclyde U.) ; Torres, D A (West Scotland U. ; Strathclyde U.) ; Wady, P (West Scotland U. ; Strathclyde U.) ; Tandel, S K (Shiv Nadar U.) et al.
Excited states of the neutron-rich niobium isotopes Nb96,97,98,4196,97,98,99 have been populated in two experiments which used fusion-fission and multinucleon binary grazing reactions to populate high-spin yrast states. In the multinucleon-transfer experiment, a 530-MeV beam of Zr96 ions was incident on a thin Sn124 target; projectile-like ejectiles were detected and identified using the PRISMA magnetic spectrometer and the associated γ rays were detected using the CLARA array of Ge detectors. (ICC, Barcelona U.) ; Miyagi, T. (Darmstadt, Tech. U. ; Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst. ; Darmstadt, GSI) ; Assié, M. (IJCLab, Orsay) ; Ciemała, M. (Cracow, INP) ; Flavigny, F. The excited states of unstable $^{20}$O were investigated via $\gamma$-ray spectroscopy following the $^{19}$O$(d,p)^{20}$O reaction at 8 $A$MeV. By exploiting the Doppler Shift Attenuation Method, the lifetime of the 2$^+_2$ and 3$^+_1$ states were firmly established. [...]

Shape evolution in even-mass $^{98-104}$Zr isotopes via lifetime measurements using the $\gamma \gamma $-coincidence technique / Pasqualato, G. (IJCLab, Orsay) ; Ansari, S. (IRFU, Saclay) ; Heines, J.S. (Oslo U.) ; Modamio, V. (Oslo U.) ; Görgen, A. (Oslo U.) ; Korten, W. (IRFU, Saclay) ; Ljungvall, J. (IJCLab, Orsay ; Strasbourg, IPHC) ; Clément, E. (GANIL) ; Dudouet, J. (IP2I, Lyon) ; Lemasson, A. (GANIL) et al.
The Zirconium (Z = 40) isotopic chain has attracted interest for more than four decades. The abrupt lowering of the energy of the first $2^+$ state and the increase in the transition strength B(E2; $2_1^\rightarrow 0_1^+$ going from $^{98}$Zr to $^{100}$Zr has been the first example of "quantum phase transition" in nuclear shapes, which has few equivalents in the nuclear chart. Background: The Xe isotopic chain with four valence protons above the Z=50 shell closure is an ideal laboratory for the study of the evolution of nuclear deformation. At the N=82 shell closure, Xe136 presents all characteristics of a doubly closed shell nucleus with a spherical shape. [...]

Search for $^{22}$Na in novae supported by a novel method for measuring femtosecond nuclear lifetimes / Fougères, Chloé (GANIL ; Argonne, PHY) ; de Oliveira Santos, François (GANIL) ; José, Jordi (Barcelona U. ; Barcelona, IEEC) ; Michelagnoli, Caterina (Laue-Langevin Inst.) ; Clément, Emmanuel (GANIL) ; Kim, Yung Hee (GANIL ; IBS, Daejeon, CENS) ; Lemasson, Antoine (GANIL) ; Guimarães, Valdir (Sao Paulo U.) ; Barrientos, Diego (CERN) ; Bemmerer, Daniel (HZDR, Dresden) et al.
Classical novae are thermonuclear explosions in stellar binary systems, and important sources of $^{26}$Al and $^{22}$Na. While gamma rays from the decay of the former radioisotope have been observed throughout the Galaxy, $^{22}$Na remains untraceable. [...]

Excited states in the neutron-deficient nucleus $^{87}$Tc have been studied via the fusion-evaporation reaction $^{54}$Fe($^{36}$Ar, 2$n$1p) $^{87}$Tc at 115 MeV beam energy. The AGATA γ -ray spectrometer coupled to the DIAMANT, NEDA, and Neutron Wall detector arrays for light-particle detection was used to measure the prompt coincidence of $\gamma$ rays and light particles. The reduced transition probabilities for the $4^+_1 \to 2^+_1$ and $2^+_1 \to 0^+_1$ transitions in $^{92}$Mo and $^{94}$Ru and for the $4^+_1 \to 2^+_1$ and $6^+_1 \to 4^+_1$ transitions in $^{90}$Zr have been determined in this experiment making use of a multinucleon transfer reaction. These results have been interpreted on the basis of realistic shell-model calculations in the $f_{5/2}, p_{3/2}, p_{1/2},$ and $g_{9/2}$ proton valence space. [...]
