Correction of the baseline fluctuations in the GEM-based ALICE TPC / ALICE TPC Collaboration
To operate the ALICE Time Projection Chamber in continuous mode during the Run~3 and Run~4 data-taking periods of the Large Hadron Collider, the multi-wire proportional chamber-based readout was replaced with gas-electron multipliers. As expected, the detector performance is affected by the so-called common-mode effect, which leads to significant baseline fluctuations. [...]

The first evaluation of an ultra-high granularity digital electromagnetic calorimeter prototype using 1.0-5.8 GeV/c electrons is presented. The $25\times10^6$ pixel detector consists of 24 layers of ALPIDE CMOS MAPS sensors, with a pitch of around 30~$\mu$m, and has a depth of almost 20 radiation lengths of tungsten absorber. [...]

The Time Projection Chamber (TPC) of the ALICE experiment at the CERN LHC was upgraded for Run 3 and Run 4. Readout chambers based on Gas Electron Multiplier (GEM) technology and a new readout scheme allow continuous data taking at the highest interaction rates expected in Pb-Pb collisions. [...]

The upgrade of the ALICE TPC with GEMs and continuous readout / ALICE TPC Collaboration
The upgrade of the ALICE TPC will allow the experiment to cope with the high interaction rates foreseen for the forthcoming Run 3 and Run 4 at the CERN LHC. In this article, we describe the design of new readout chambers and front-end electronics, which are driven by the goals of the experiment. [...]

ALICE HLT high speed tracking on GPU / for the ALICE Collaboration
The on-line event reconstruction in ALICE is performed by the High Level Trigger, which should process up to 2000 events per second in proton-proton collisions and up to 300 central events per second in heavy-ion collisions, corresponding to an inp ut data stream of 30 GB/s. In order to fulfill the time requirements, a fast on-line tracker has been developed. [...]

Photon and Eta Production in p+Pb and p+C Collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 17.4$ GeV / WA98 Collaboration
Measurements of direct photon production in p+Pb and p+C collisions at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}} = 17.4\mathrm{GeV}$ are presented. Upper limits on the direct photon yield as a function of $p_\mathrm{T}$ are derived and compared to the results for Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}} = 17.3$ GeV. [...]

Event-by-event charged-neutral fluctuations in Pb+Pb collisions at 158 A~GeV / WA98 Collaboration
Charged particles and photons have been measured in central Pb+Pb collisions at 158 A GeV in a common ($\eta$ - $\phi$)-phase space region in the WA98 experiment at the CERN SPS. The measured distributions have been analyzed %using the sliding window method in order to quantify the frequency with which phase space regions of varying sizes have either small or large neutral pion fraction.
