Search for Quasiparticle Scattering in the Quark-Gluon Plasma with Jet Splittings in pp and Pb-Pb Collisions at sNN=5.02  TeV / ALICE Collaboration
The ALICE Collaboration reports measurements of the large relative transverse momentum (kT) component of jet substructure in pp and Pb-Pb collisions at center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair sNN=5.02  TeV. Enhancement in the yield of such large-kT emissions in head-on Pb-Pb collisions is predicted to arise from partonic scattering with quasiparticles of the quark-gluon plasma. [...]

Neutron emission probabilities and half-lives of 37 beta-delayed neutron emitters from 75Ni to 92Br were measured at the RIKEN Nishina Center in Japan, including 11 one-neutron and 13 two-neutron emission probabilities and 6 half-lives measured for the first time, which supersede theoretical estimates. These nuclei lie in the path of the weak r-process occurring in neutrino-driven winds from the accretion disk formed after the merger of two neutron stars, synthesizing elements in the A~80 abundance peak. This work reports femtoscopy correlations of p$-$p (p$-$p) and p$-$d (p$-$d) pairs measured in Pb$-$Pb collisions at center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 5.02$ TeV by the ALICE Collaboration. A fit to the measured proton-proton correlation functions allows one to extract the dependence of the nucleon femtoscopic radius of the particle-emitting source as a function of the pair transverse mass ($m_{\rm T}$) and of the average charge particle multiplicity $\langle {\rm d}N_{\rm ch}/{\rm d}\eta \rangle^{1/3}$ for three centrality intervals (0$-$10%, 10$-$30%, 30$-$50%). This Letter presents measurements of long-range transverse-momentum correlations using a new observable, $v_0 ( p_{\rm T} )$, which serves as a probe of radial flow and medium properties in heavy-ion collisions. Results are reported for inclusive charged particles, pions, kaons, and protons across various centrality intervals in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 5.02$ TeV, recorded by the ALICE detector. Heavy-flavor quarks produced in proton–proton (pp) collisions provide a unique opportunity to investigate the evolution of quark-initiated parton showers from initial hard scatterings to final-state hadrons. By examining jets that contain heavy-flavor hadrons, this study explores the effects of both perturbative and non-perturbative QCD on jet formation and structure. [...]

Energy–energy correlators in charm-tagged jets in proton–proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV / Acharya, Shreyasi (INFN, Bari) ; Agarwal, Apar (Calcutta, VECC) ; Aglieri Rinella, Gianluca (CERN) ; Aglietta, Luca (Turin U. ; INFN, Turin) ; Agnello, Michelangelo (Turin Polytechnic) ; Agrawal, Neelima (Bologna U. ; INFN, Bologna) ; Ahammed, Zubayer (Calcutta, VECC) ; Ahmad, Shakeel (Aligarh Muslim U.) ; Ahn, Sang Un (KISTI, Daejeon) ; Ahuja, Ishaan (Kosice U.) et al. /ALICE
In this letter, we present the first measurement of the energy–energy correlator (EEC) in charm-tagged jets from proton–proton (pp) collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV. EECs probe the structure of QCD radiation, providing a unique test of mass-dependent effects in parton showers involving a charm quark and offering a distinct view into non-perturbative phenomena, including the hadronization process [...]

Revealing the microscopic mechanism of deuteron formation at the LHC / Acharya, Shreyasi (INFN, Bari) ; Agarwal, Apar (Calcutta, VECC) ; Aglieri Rinella, Gianluca (CERN) ; Aglietta, Luca (Turin U. ; INFN, Turin) ; Agnello, Michelangelo (Turin Polytechnic) ; Agrawal, Neelima (Bologna U. ; INFN, Bologna) ; Ahammed, Zubayer (Calcutta, VECC) ; Ahmad, Shakeel (Aligarh Muslim U.) ; Ahn, Sang Un (KISTI, Daejeon) ; Ahuja, Ishaan (Kosice U.) et al. /ALICE
The formation of light (anti)nuclei with mass number A of few units (e.g., d, $^3$He, and $^4$He) in high-energy hadronic collisions presents a longstanding mystery in nuclear physics [1, 2]. It is not clear how nuclei bound by a few MeV can emerge in environments characterized by temperatures above 100 MeV [3–5], about 100,000 times hotter than the center of the Sun [...]

First observation of ultra-long-range azimuthal correlations in low multiplicity pp and p–Pb collisions at the LHC / Acharya, Shreyasi (INFN, Bari) ; Agarwal, Apar (Calcutta, VECC) ; Aglieri Rinella, Gianluca (CERN) ; Aglietta, Luca (Turin U. ; INFN, Turin) ; Agnello, Michelangelo (Turin Polytechnic) ; Agrawal, Neelima (Bologna U. ; INFN, Bologna) ; Ahammed, Zubayer (Calcutta, VECC) ; Ahmad, Shakeel (Aligarh Muslim U.) ; Ahn, Sang Un (KISTI, Daejeon) ; Ahuja, Ishaan (Kosice U.) et al. /ALICE
This study presents the first observation of ultra-long-range two-particle azimuthal correlations with pseudorapidity separation of $|\Delta \eta| > 5.0$ in proton–proton (pp) andf $|\Delta \eta| > 6.5$ in proton–lead (p–Pb) collisions at the LHC, down to and below the minimum-bias multiplicity. Two-particle correlation coefficients ($V_{2\Delta}$) are measured after removing non-flow (jets and resonance decays) contributions using the template-fit method across various multiplicity classes, providing novel insights into the origin of long-range correlations in small systems [...]

Accessing the deuteron source with pion–deuteron femtoscopy in Pb–Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 5.02$ TeV / Acharya, Shreyasi (INFN, Bari) ; Agarwal, Apar (Calcutta, VECC) ; Aglieri Rinella, Gianluca (CERN) ; Aglietta, Luca (Turin U. ; INFN, Turin) ; Agnello, Michelangelo (Turin Polytechnic) ; Agrawal, Neelima (Bologna U. ; INFN, Bologna) ; Ahammed, Zubayer (Calcutta, VECC) ; Ahmad, Shakeel (Aligarh Muslim U.) ; Ahn, Sang Un (KISTI, Daejeon) ; Ahuja, Ishaan (Kosice U.) et al.
Femtoscopy of non-identical particle pairs has been instrumental for precision measurements of both two-particle sources and the final-state interactions in high-energy elementary and heavy-ion collisions. The majority of measurements assessing the source properties are based on identical particle pairs, providing direct access to the characteristics of the single-particle source. [...]

The ALICE Collaboration reports its first LHC Run 3 measurements of charged-particle pseudorapidity density at midrapidity in Pb-Pb collisions at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}=5.36$ TeV. Particle multiplicity in high-energy collisions characterises the system geometry, constrains particle-production mechanisms, and is used to estimate initial energy density. [...]
