Broadband Multi-wavelength Properties of M87 during the 2018 EHT Campaign including a Very High Energy Flaring Episode / Event Horizon Telescope Multi-wavelength Science Collaboration
The nearby elliptical galaxy M87 contains one of the only two supermassive black holes whose emission surrounding the event horizon has been imaged by the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT). [...]

The LHCb upgrade I / LHCb Collaboration
The LHCb upgrade represents a major change of the experiment. The detectors have been almost completely renewed to allow running at an instantaneous luminosity five times larger than that of the previous running periods. [...]

A new detector capable of measuring the luminosity and beam conditions of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is proposed at the interaction point of the LHCb experiment. It will enable real time monitoring of beam parameters, which is of paramount importance in order to safely operate the LHC and its experiments in the beam conditions foreseen for Run 3, starting in 2021, and beyond, towards the High-Luminosity (HL) phase. The HeRSCheL detector: high-rapidity shower counters for LHCb / Akiba, K.Carvalho (Rio de Janeiro Federal U.) ; Alessio, F. (CERN) ; Bondar, N. (CERN ; St. Petersburg, INP) ; Byczynski, W. (CERN) ; Coco, V. (CERN) ; Collins, P. (CERN) ; Dumps, R. (CERN) ; Dzhelyadin, R. (Serpukhov, IHEP) ; Gandini, P. (Oxford U.) ; Gruberg Cazon, B. R. (Oxford U.) et al.
The HeRSCheL detector consists of a set of scintillating counters, designed to increase the coverage of the LHCb experiment in the high-rapidity regions on either side of the main spectrometer. The new detector improves the capabilities of LHCb for studies of diffractive interactions, most notably Central Exclusive Production. [...]

The upgraded LHCb experiment, which is supposed to go into operation in 2018/19 will require a massive increase in its computer facilities. A new 2 MW data-centre is planned at the LHCb site. [...]

Implications of LHCb measurements and future prospects / LHCb Collaboration
During 2011 the LHCb experiment at CERN collected $1.0 {\mbox{fb}^{-1}}$ of $\sqrt{s} = 7 {\mathrm{\,Te\kern -0.1em V}}$ $pp$ collisions. Due to the large heavy quark production cross-sections, these data provide unprecedented samples of heavy flavoured hadrons. [...]

Measurement of $\sigma (pp \to b\overline{b}X)$ at $\sqrt{s}$=7 TeV in the forward region / LHCb Collaboration
Decays of b hadrons into final states containing a D0 meson and a muon are used to measure the b anti-b production cross-section in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV at the LHC. In the pseudorapidity interval 2 < eta < 6 and integrated over all transverse momenta we find that the average cross-section to produce b-flavoured or anti-b-flavoured hadrons is (75.3 +/- 5.4 +/- 13.0) microbarns..

Prompt $K_{S}^{0}$ production in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 0.9 TeV / LHCb Collaboration
The production of K_short mesons in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 0.9 TeV is studied with the LHCb detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The luminosity of the analysed sample is determined using a novel technique, involving measurements of the beam currents, sizes and positions, and is found to be 6.8 +/- 1.0 microbarn^-1. [...]
