$^{208}$Po populated through EC/β$^{+}$ decay
/ Brunet, M (Surrey U.) ; Berry, T A (Surrey U.) ; Podolyák, Zs (Surrey U.) ; Carroll, R J (Surrey U.) ; Lica, R (CERN ; Bucharest, IFIN-HH) ; Sotty, Ch (Bucharest, IFIN-HH ; Leuven U.) ; Andreyev, A N (York U., England) ; Borge, M J G (CERN) ; Cubiss, J G (CERN ; York U., England) ; Fraile, L M (Madrid U.) et al.
The structure of $^{208}$Po resulting from the EC/β + decay of $^{208}$At was studied at CERN’s ISOLDE Decay Station (IDS). The high statistics afforded by the high yield of $^{208}$At and the high efficiency HPGe clusters at the IDS allowed for greater insight into lower intensity transitions and thus significant expansion of the $^{208}$Po level scheme. Competition between allowed and first-forbidden $β$ decays of $^{208}$At and expansion of the $^{208}$Po level scheme
/ Brunet, M (Surrey U.) ; Podolyák, Zs (Surrey U.) ; Berry, T A (Surrey U.) ; Brown, B A (Michigan State U., NSCL) ; Carroll, R J (Surrey U.) ; Lica, R (CERN ; Bucharest, IFIN-HH) ; Sotty, Ch (Bucharest, IFIN-HH ; Leuven U.) ; Andreyev, A N (York U., England ; JAEA, Ibaraki) ; Borge, M J G (CERN) ; Cubiss, J G (CERN ; Madrid U.) et al.
The structure of $^{208}$Po populated through the EC/$β^+$ decay of $^{208}$At is investigated using $γ$-ray spectroscopy at the ISOLDE Decay Station. The presented level scheme contains 27 new excited states and 43 new transitions, as well as a further 50 previously observed $γ$ rays which have been (re)assigned a position. [...]

Low-lying electric dipole $γ$-continuum for the unstable $^{62,64}$Fe nuclei: Strength evolution with neutron number
/ Avigo, R (INFN, Milan ; Milan U.) ; Wieland, O (INFN, Milan) ; Bracco, A (INFN, Milan ; Milan U.) ; Camera, F (INFN, Milan ; Milan U.) ; Ameil, F (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Arici, T (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Ataç, A (Royal Inst. Tech., Stockholm) ; Barrientos, D (CERN) ; Bazzacco, D (INFN, Padua) ; Bednarczyk, P (Cracow, INP) et al.
The γ -ray emission from the nuclei $^{62,64}$Fe following Coulomb excitation at bombarding energy of 400-440 AMeV was measured with special focus on E 1 transitions in the energy region 4-8 MeV. The unstable neutron-rich nuclei $^{62,64}$Fe were produced at the FAIR-GSI laboratories and selected with the FRS spectrometer. [...]

Manifestation of the Berry phase in the atomic nucleus $^{213}$Pb

The neutron-rich $^{213}$Pb isotope was produced in the fragmentation of a primary 1 GeV $A$ $^{238}$U beam, separated in FRS in mass and atomic number, and then implanted for isomer decay $\gamma$-ray spectroscopy with the RISING setup at GSI. A newly observed isomer and its measured decay properties indicate that states in $^{213}$Pb are characterized by the seniority quantum number that counts the nucleons not in pairs coupled to angular momentum $J=0$. Competition between Allowed and First-Forbidden $β$ Decay: The Case of $^{208}$Hg$→^{208}$Tl

The $β$ decay of $^{208}$Hg into the one-proton hole, one neutron-particle $^{208}_{81}$Tl$_{127}$ nucleus was investigated at CERN-ISOLDE. Shell-model calculations describe well the level scheme deduced, validating the proton-neutron interactions used, with implications for the whole of the N>126, Z<82 quadrant of neutron-rich nuclei.
