The Karlsruhe research accelerator KARA offers a setup to measure the beam energy with resonant spin depolarization. The depolarization is excited by the stripline kickers of the bunch-by-bunch feedback system and the resonant frequency is measured via change in Touschek lifetime. [...]

At KARA, the Karlsruhe Research Accelerator of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology synchrotron, the so-called short-bunch operation mode allows the reduction of the bunch length down to a few picoseconds. First beam dynamics studies of a damping wiggler prototype for the CLIC damping rings have been carried out at the KIT storage ring.
