Challenges in double charge exchange measurements for neutrino physics / Torresi, D (INFN, LNS) ; Agodi, C (del sud) ; Bellone, J (INFN, LNS ; Catania U.) ; Bonanno, D (INFN, Catania) ; Branchina, V (Catania U. ; INFN, Catania) ; Brasolin, S (INFN, Turin) ; Brischetto, G (INFN, LNS ; Catania U.) ; Brunasso, O (INFN, Turin) ; Burrello, S (INFN, LNS ; Seville U.) ; Calabrese, S (INFN, LNS ; Catania U.) et al. /NUMEN
The neutrinoless double beta (0νββ) decay, if observed, has important implications on particle physics, cosmology and fundamental physics. In particular it can give access to the effective neutrino mass. [...]

The Muon Portal Project: Commissioning of the full detector and first results / Riggi, F (Catania U. ; INFN, Catania) ; Antonuccio, V (INAF, Catania) ; Bandieramonte, M (CERN) ; Becciani, U (INAF, Catania) ; Bonanno, G (INAF, Catania) ; Bonanno, D L (INFN, Catania ; Catania U.) ; Bongiovanni, D (INFN, Catania ; Catania U.) ; Fallica, P G ; Gallo, G (Catania U. ; INFN, Catania) ; Garozzo, S (INAF, Catania) et al.
The Muon Portal Project has built a prototype of a real size detector (6 m $\times$ 3 m $\times$ 7 m) for the inspection of containers by muon tomography. This technique may provide 2D and 3D images of the interior of a container, to identify the presence of high-$Z$ materials. [...]

Observ.) ; Bonanno, D L (INFN, Catania) ; Bonanno, G (Catania Astrophys. Observ.) ; Bongiovanni, D (INFN, Catania) ; Fallica, P G (SGS Thomson, Catania) ; Garozzo, S (Catania Astrophys. Observ.) ; Grillo, A (Catania Astrophys. Observ.) ; La Rocca, P (INFN, Catania ; Catania U.) et al.
Cosmic ray tomography is a technique which exploits the multiple Coulomb scattering of highly penetrating cosmic ray-produced muons to perform non-destructive inspection of high-Z materials without the use of artificial radiation. A muon tomography detection system can be used as a portal monitor at border crossing points for detecting illegal targeted objects. [...]
