Method for laser spectroscopy of metastable pionic helium atoms / Hori, M (Munich, Max Planck Inst. Quantenopt.) ; Sótér, A (Munich, Max Planck Inst. Quantenopt.) ; Aghai-Khozani, H (Munich, Max Planck Inst. Quantenopt.) ; Barna, D (CERN) ; Dax, A (PSI, Villigen) ; Hayano, R S (Tokyo U.) ; Murakami, Y (Tokyo U.) ; Yamada, H (Tokyo U.)
The PiHe collaboration is currently attempting to carry out laser spectroscopy of metastable pionic helium atoms using the high-intensity π$^{−}$ beam of the ring cyclotron facility of the Paul Scherrer Institute. These atoms are heretofore hypothetical three-body Coulomb systems each composed of a helium nucleus, a π$^{−}$ occupying a Rydberg state, and an electron occupying the 1s ground state. [...]

The GBAR project (Gravitational Behaviour of Anti hydrogen at Rest) at CERN, aims to measure the free fall acceleration of ultracold neutral anti hydrogen atoms in the terrestrial gravitational field. The experiment consists preparing anti hydrogen ions (one antiproton and two positrons) and sympathetically cooling them with Be$^{+}$ ions to less than 10 μK. [...]

VIP 2: Experimental tests of the Pauli Exclusion Principle for electrons / Pichler, A. (Stefan Meyer Inst. Subatomare Phys.) ; Bartalucci, S. (Frascati) ; Bertolucci, S. (CERN) ; Berucci, C. (Stefan Meyer Inst. Subatomare Phys. ; Frascati) ; Bragadireanu, M. (Frascati ; Bucharest, IFIN-HH) ; Cargnelli, M. (Stefan Meyer Inst. Subatomare Phys.) ; Clozza, A. (Frascati) ; Curceanu, C. (Frascati ; Bucharest, IFIN-HH ; Enrico Fermi Ctr., Rome) ; De Paolis, L. (Frascati) ; Di Matteo, S. (Rennes U.) et al.
Many experiments investigated the violation of the Pauli Exclusion Principle (PEP) since its discovery in 1925. The VIP (VIolation of the Pauli Principle) experiment tested the PEP by measuring the probability for an external electron to be captured and undergo a 2p to 1s transition during its cascading process, where the 1s state is already occupied by two electrons. Observation of Hyperfine Transitions in Trapped Ground-State Antihydrogen / Olin, Arthur (Victoria U. ; TRIUMF) /for the ALPHA Collaboration
This paper discusses the first observation of stimulated magnetic resonance transitions between the hyperfine levels of trapped ground state atomic antihydrogen, confirming its presence in the ALPHA apparatus. Our observations show that these transitions are consistent with the values in hydrogen to within 4~parts~in~$10^3$. [...]

An atomic hydrogen beam to test ASACUSA's apparatus for antihydrogen spectroscopy / Diermaier, Martin (Stefan Meyer Inst. Subatomare Phys.) ; Caradonna, Peter (Stefan Meyer Inst. Subatomare Phys.) ; Kolbinger, Bernadette (Stefan Meyer Inst. Subatomare Phys.) ; Malbrunot, Chloé (CERN) ; Massiczek, Oswald (Stefan Meyer Inst. Subatomare Phys.) ; Zmeskal, Johann (Stefan Meyer Inst. Subatomare Phys.) ; Widmann, Eberhard (Stefan Meyer Inst. Subatomare Phys.)
The ASACUSA collaboration aims to measure the ground state hyperfine splitting (GS-HFS) of antihydrogen, the antimatter pendant to atomic hydrogen. Comparisons of the corresponding transitions in those two systems will provide sensitive tests of the CPT symmetry, the combination of the three discrete symmetries charge conjugation, parity, and time reversal. One of the ASACUSA (Atomic Spectroscopy And Collisions Using Slow Antiprotons) collaboration's goals is the measurement of the ground state hyperfine transition frequency in antihydrogen, the antimatter counterpart of one of the best known systems in physics. This high precision experiment yields a sensitive test of the fundamental symmetry of CPT. [...]
