Abstract The CAMAC-based online data acquisition system for the NA3 experiment is described. Recent developments to the system include: extending the external buffer memory size by the use of memories with 23 bits of address; shifting the tasks of experiment monitoring and data packing from the minicomputer to auxiliary controllers. Cheap peripherals are used, and the software includes the MACSBUG system, and local assembler and editor. (0 refs).
